She took her pale black shirt off and slipped another shirt on that was white and like the one's that showed most of your back but not a lot. She hoped Piers didn't look at her back because there were too many scars to count. Jabs, slashes, cuts, even a few bruises. She allowed her pale blond hair to flow over her shoulders as she walked downstairs, blinking when she saw Piers.

She walked in the kitchen and watched out the window with her scarred back facing Piers. She could hardly look at him because she didn't know if she could forgive him.

She whipped around, staring at him. Wide eyed. She didn't find words to explain it because she didn't want to explain it, so she did the simplest thing that came to her thoughts. Kiss him. So she closed her eyes tightly and kissed him, not taking her lips away as if thinking all her bad thoughts and the conversation would only go away if she kissed them away.
