For the most part I think I agree with most others about the things I mentioned above? But I really have to disagree with the argument that these lines aren't unique or loose the 'magic' of Pseudodragons. The new lines are incredibly unique and one-of-a-kind, and altogether show off the species and show Pachoo's talent as an artist. I love the new lines, but they need work uvu

Ah, and I didn't mean that the new lines aren't unique, they are in their own way, just that the current ones are far more unique in my opinion.
That doesn't make the new version non-unique, sorry if it looks like I meant it that way, I don't think the others would've meant it that way either (or at least I'm assuming so). :c
This is not really a bad thing at all, it's simply just one of the big things that really made me adore the species, instead of it being more like 'just another adoptable' sort of thing. If we changed linearts to this newer one, I'd still really like pseudodragons, just not nearly as much as I do now is all.
All in all, I'll accept (possibly with some reluctance to be honest) whatever decision pachoo decides in regards to the lineart, but I'm really glad I put my two cents in (and that I actually can; it's fantastic that the community can give their opinions thank you so much for that pachoo!), instead of just mulling it over inside and regretting not saying anything.

Regardless, yes pachoo is a very talented artist I agree, and I'm sure we'll all agree on that! <3

The general consensus seems to favor the original lines~ The original lines will stay then, at least until I can figure something out that provides more room for designing while still maintaining the feel of the original lines. I don't want people to feel like Pseudodragons are losing the spark because of the lines, and I agree that the design space is a bit small. xD

Idk, I'll play around with stuff but for now as I do that the original lines will stay. If I come up with anything else I'll be sure to post it here. Thank you to everyone who posted their thoughts! ^o^

What things would you change/alter about the new lines? What things bug you/what do you like?
I love the new head shape but the legs really bother me, especially since they're supposed to be more lizard-y(I think?) Lizard legs are a lot shorter and more angular to make them lower to the ground. Also, just a pet peeve - tails usually drag or are lifted slightly rather than curl up like that.
Other than anatomical stuff they look good, though! I think they'd be easier to design on than the original, myself.

I've been reading all the hate about the new lines, and I think it is high time I say something about it. If you want my honest opinion, I am VERY disappointed in the community. The total hatred for the new lines is uncalled for. Pachoo spent 13 hours on the new lines, and you toss it away without even a chance. The lines are easier to design on for me, yet everyone is criticizing Pachoo for the anatomy and acting like they know. You guys did not create the species, Pachoo did and she can change/fix the anatomy all she wants.

I know from the previous lines to these lines is a big change, although Pseudodragons were always meant to be very small creatures. This is the main reason why the lines are being changed; the old lines do not portray the species' anatomy as well, making them look more bulky and muscular than they were meant to be. ;u;

She said the “do not portray the species' anatomy as well”, therefore the old line's anatomy is wrong. You cannot tell the species creator otherwise, or act like you know what the anatomy is like.
I am not only disappointed in the community, but some of the staff as well. The artists didn't even want to try the new lines and see how designing on them was, they instant said: “Oh I can't design on these”. You can't judge a book by it's cover. I am extremely upset that you all basically broke Pachoo's heart. This is no way for a community to act, nor its staff members.
I, for one, liked the new lines and I think it is time you all give them a chance.

I have to completely agree with you there. I didn't say anything as I was really late to seeing the feedback on the new lines, but they actually look really nice and like they'd be fun to draw on. There are a few things that don't look right, but not only could they be fixed fairly easily, but maybe they are supposed to be that way. I honestly think they are a lot better then the older lines, and that there was no need for all the hate given.

I'm sorry, Toast, but Pachoo asked for feedback and criticism, and this is exactly what everybody gave her. Nobody here wrote hateful comments neither bashed on the new lines, everybody simply gave her criticism and their honest opinions in the most polite, professional way possible. Nobody here said that art is bad, we just said it's not suitable for character designing. You shouldn't expect everybody to like the new lines just because you do... specially given how suddenly both the announcement and the preview of the lineart concept were thrown at all of us.

Yes I know Pachoo meant to better portray her species anatomy, which is completely fine. However, just because someone created a species of their own, this does not mean they are free to do "whatever they want" with the body anatomy. Everybody who gave criticism here was pointing out at real flaws Pachoo, who is already an amazing artist, should pay more attention at(such as the proportion and musculature of the pseudodragon she portrayed), all with the intent of helping her improve the lineart and not offend her at all. Wasn't that what she asked for? Feedback so she could provide a lineart as good as possible for her species?

I'm sorry if I or any of us made her sad, because this was not the idea. All we did was write honest feedback, for the community just wanted the best for Pachoo and her species. I, as an artist with vast experience on adoptables designing, know just from looking at the new lineart concept that it wouldn't be very practical at all to make designs, I don't need to "give it a try" to know it, and thus it would be simply wiser to make the owner aware of this through criticism before she made those something official.

Again, I'm really sorry if Pachoo is heartbroken over the feedback those lines got. She is an amazing artist and the community was just trying to help.

Thank you for your support. I know Pachoo asked for critique, but she asked because she was hearing all the complaints (and some artists threatened to quit) about the new lines. She wanted to find common ground with the community.

I'm not a part of the staff but if the owner of the species wants to edit the lines she can do anything she wants. It's her choice completely and if people threaten to quit being an artist, frankly, I think Pachoopi can easily find artists that would gladly make just as good designs, maybe even better. It's her species, she can do what she wants.
