*deep sigh of incoming doom* Okay, I really hope I don't sound rude neither harsh with my feedback... ¬¬'

What things would you change/alter about the new lines? What things bug you/what do you like?
To be honest, I don't really like the new lines. They would be great as a gift lineart to color in, but not for designing at all given they do not look practical for such purposes:

- The feathers have no room for designing, specially the neck ones.
- The pose isn't as fluid as the original lineart, which makes it less fun to color and also gives the artist very little freedom to play with unique design ideas. The body in fact barely has any room to play with bold pattern concepts, since it's so thin the underbelly occupies 50% of it.
- The body proportions are considerably off for a creature meant to be small enough to fit in your hand, with this lineart pseudos look bigger than normal... although also much more fragile.
- Anatomy wise there are very significant flaws, such as the neck being clearly thicker than the body itself. The hind legs' structure also look really off since they are much thiner/shorter than the forelegs. The right ear feels very misplaced too on the skull, it should be hidden behind the crest.

Lillian Nightshade;; Im going to have to agree with Lillian.
As an artist I can confirm that the current lines really are wonderfully easy and fun to work with. That was one of the things that attracted me as an artist for pseudo's. Im not sure who said they weren't fun...but to be honest I think they may have just been having artist block and so were trying to blame the lines. ^^;
While I think the new lines have a very interesting style, their too far from the pseudo's we recognize to be accepted so easily as pseudo's? Perhaps they could be a subspecies of pseudo that is slightly larger?
Id also like to point out that the new pseudo lines look less like dragons and more like lizards? At least to me.

Cloud' wrote:What things would you change/alter about the new lines? What things bug you/what do you like? I must say i dont like the new lines much - they look so small and breakable if you know what i mean - why do you want to change them at all? the old ones are really perfect, they are nice, well-drawn, fluffy and cute, have a beautiful facial expression and are as lovely as can be...

I agree with all of this. Although I do like the tail and feather style better (kind of) on these newer lines.
The current lines are one of the things that made pseudodragons my favourite adoptable species, and these newer ones just don't have that inner magic to them for me. One of the main things that bothers me is the new face and ear shape...It is reminiscent of a fox or something along those lines, which just doesn't go with the rest... :/
I really do like the new male feathers though, it is a little confusing to draw the male feathers with the current lines, and this makes the feathers blend into the body better I suppose. But there's so many feathers there it's kinda messy and it'd be awkward to draw that many feathers in and still get the design in the exact right spot for those that like to get every detail as close as possible.
It's nice to see the top of the tail to see the design better on that.
Like I really really like being able to see the top of the tail, it'd make drawing from different angles so much easier.
The neck looks like it'd break or pull the rest of the pseudodragon over. o.o I agree with what many others have said on this.
The way the whole structure is in this new lineart it looks like it should be a huge beast instead of a small creature. o:
Legs make me think more of a hoofed animal like cross between a moose and a wildebeest instead of a reptile. :c
Not much else to say really; Cloud really summed it up perfectly. c:
And Lilian mentioned many of the things I couldn't figure out how to put into words thank you for that. <3

Also I saw mention that the current lines make pseudodragons look more bulky and muscular than they're meant to be, but they're already (At least to me) really dainty and cute and look like they're ready and waiting to just curl up in your hand <3
I can't imagine that dainty little size with the newer lines, even though the overall appearance of those is more thin and fragile.

I don't know, just this newer variation looks much more like many other species you find floating around, instead of keeping more of its uniqueness. If I didn't know the current lines, I'd love these lines a lot bar the neck and legs (legs I would probably get used to maybe sort of). These new lines would make the species one I'd like, but it wouldn't be the same as the current ones which made me fall head over heels in love with this species.
I'm so so sorry this is so critical, I just can't find the magic. T.T
I feel really bad since I feel like this may come off as too critical or rude or something, but I honestly didn't mean to say so many negative points and tried to think of positives and all. ;n;
Oh, but these would be really cool gift lines I agree with Lilian on that! C:

EDIT: Staz came up with an excellent idea, these new lines would be cool as a larger subspecies of pseudragon! c:

Yup, exactly my thoughts on all this.

The current lineart had a big role on my interest for the species, because it made the pseudos look so unique compared with most adoptable species out there, not only regarding the pose, but also their body anatomy and design. And while Pachoo said this...

Pachoopi wrote:I know from the previous lines to these lines is a big change, although Pseudodragons were always meant to be very small creatures. This is the main reason why the lines are being changed; the old lines do not portray the species' anatomy as well, making them look more bulky and muscular than they were meant to be. ;u;

To me it's the complete opposite. The current lines don't look bulky at all, for they follow the correct proportions of the small sized creature the pseudos are meant to be. When you look at those lines you can picture the pseudo fitting in your hand or digging a tiny hole on the ground to hid itself from a nearby bird of prey. With this lineart I can't do the same, for its more muscular, defined body, along with the proportionally smaller head and eyes, give me the impression of a reptilian of much bigger scale, being at least of the size of an average dog or similar.

Edit: by the way, I know this can sound reeeeally hypocritical coming from me given the style I use to draw pseudos. I often alter their proportions to that of a much bigger creature because I'm just way too used to drawing big, bulky dragons ^^'.

I absolutely LOVE the style!! It's so elegant. However, the neck is the same width and length as the body, and that jsut feels a bit... Off.

Cloud, Staz, PurpleKakashi, Midnight tails and Lillian said everything I would want to say. I also noticed that most of these people are artists. Artists have a better eye and can see these faults in design and the people who are saying they love the lines are more community members.
I prefer the old lines and anatomy compared to the new ones. They are a lot more unique and cuter.

hmmmmm well, to be honest i do like the look of these lines, although i have to agree that anatomy is a little funky with the neck.
The feathers would be very hard to design on, and it would be very difficult to make any sort of edits to them.
The current lines always gave me a lot of trouble when designing, I found the pose awkward ;A; The lining and pose for these lines are excellent, and really reflect your current style (which is fabulous and very unique)

Overall, I would change the neck width to make it less bulky, and maybe even out the legs as they are a little uneven. Another thing would be the feathers. Although they look really awesome, they would be very difficult to design on with all those lines ;0;

As for the supposed size of the Pseudodragon lines, current and new, I think its very subjective. Either set could be taken for small or large creatures.

For the most part I think I agree with most others about the things I mentioned above? But I really have to disagree with the argument that these lines aren't unique or loose the 'magic' of Pseudodragons. The new lines are incredibly unique and one-of-a-kind, and altogether show off the species and show Pachoo's talent as an artist. I love the new lines, but they need work uvu

    I have to agree with what most of the artists opinions on the new lines. They are neat and all but it can be really hard to put a decent design on them. And I personally like the old lines better, they where cute and had unique look.
    These new lines make them really fragile looking.
