Pet's name: Katie Shepherd, but she goes by Kate
Personality or Brief Biography: Kate gets embarrassed and nervous very easily, and often has a small stutter and fumbles with her words whenever she's nervous. In general she talks quietly, around friends or strangers. She does not dance, and will get very embarrassed and nervous if someone tries to get her to dance. She's very nice, never judges people, and doesn't get into fights.
Her personality completely changes when she's around just friends and animals. She talks normally, and doesn't get nervous. If she see's a animal, especially a reptile, she'll get excited and ask the owner about it, want to hold it, etc.
Other: Her favorite color is rainbow, she doesn't care if you give her a nickname, and she loves animals, especially reptiles.

Dear Waffles,
You'll never guess what is happening right now. (Of course you can't, diaries waffles can't think.)

In the morning, the principal made an an announcement using the loudspeaker. I hate the loudspeaker. It is way too loud, especially because the hallways here echo. Anyway, he said that since "The Sorting" got held back because Precious couldn't make it in August and September (she was taking a long vacation to some private island). So that means we would all miss 3rd and 4th period. (Yay! No Phys Ed!)
The bad part is: I DON'T KNOW WHAT "THE SORTING" IS!


I do now. There is a girl, probably Precious Gempaws, at the front of this seemingly endless line. She says the same stuff to the students in front every time. It goes like this:

Precious: Hi! (Or "hey!", "what's up?", "uh... who are you.") The name's Precious. But you, like, probably already knew that. Say your name and interests.
Student at the front of the line: [states their name and interests]

Based on their response, Precious uses her best judgement and places the student into one of five groups. The group's are:
Populars
Popularity: 11/10
Two word description: Girly, drama
They act like they rule the school. They are all girls. Apparently, it is an honor to me one. INSERT NAME HERE is the supreme popular, so she is who the populars look to to find out the latest fashion trends and stuff like that.
Jocks
Popularity: 10/10
Two word description: Sports, Yelling
They are the athletes of Canineopollis High. They always argue about sports and stuff. I think Photo is in Jocks. They're all hardcore sports fans, and are always arguing about which team is better. They have a few leaders; they are the captains for the school teams.
Emos
Popularity: 7:10
Two word description: Emotional, Dark
They are not, and I repeat NOT afraid to express themselves in any way. They dress in dark clothing, and listen to rock music on their headphones during class. They are not very talkative.
Nerds/Geeks
Popularity: 5/10
Two word description: A+, 110%
That are sooooo smart! If you took a look at their report cards, all how would see are A+'s. They love doing homework, and sometimes do it for the Populars and Jocks. They are also pretty good with computers.
Outcasts/Other
Popularity: 2/10
Two word description: Normal, Average
If you don't fit into any of those groups, or Precious simply doesn't like you, you'll end up here. Most students have something that make them stand out, but the outcasts don't, or that is the reason they were put into outcasts.

Its my turn. Here I go.

Precious: [Sigh] I'm Precious. I'm getting tired of doing this now. Can you just, like, hurry up and say yoir name and interests?
Me: Coal Barkmore. I like drawing, sketching, and hanging out with my fr--
Precious: [rolls eyes] Drawing? Are you crazy? Outcasts. Now.
Me: I bet you can't even draw a circle.
Precious: Yeah I can.
Me: Prove it.
Precious: I don't want to. (Worst comeback in the history of all comebacks)
Me: [turns around and heads toward the group of outcasts]

Precious: Name and interests.
Hope: I'm Hope Blossom and--
Precious: You're the girl who didn't want to be a popular, right? (She doesn't wait for an answer) OUTCASTS! NOW! GET AWAY FROM ME! And is this your little sister?
Hope: Yes, this is Petal. She--
Precious: MAKE HER GO AWAY, TOO. YOU'RE BOTH OUTCASTS!

Precious: Like, hurry up. Name and interests?
Mist: I'm Mist Sparkletail. I like singing, dancing, and playing instruments. My friends are outcasts, so I want to be one, too. [Walks to outcast group]
Precious: Hmph. As you wish.

Ash and Leah were sorted into outcasts at their other schools. That means they will be stuck as outcasts here, too. So all of my friends are outcasts. Yay? A girl I haven't seen before shuffles toward the front of the line, her head down.

Precious: Like, who are you. Say your name and interests.
I'm um... Kate Shepard.
Precious: What now?
I'm Kate Shepard. I like um... animals. [Blushes]
Precious: Can't hear you. Go to outcasts.
Kate: Oh. Okay...

I don't know what group Sierra got into, but I'm assuming that she is a popular. Maybe she will teach the other populars how to be more friendly. Song got into outcass with us. When Kate saw the baby birds she was taking care of, her personality changed from shy and quiet, to loud and... well, loud.

Kate: Ooh! Are those your baby birdies?!
Song: Yes.
Kate: You're so lucky! Can I hold 1? Or maybe 2?
Song: Sure.
Kate: Thank you!
A bird hops onto her shoulder. She marvels at for 10 minutes.
Kate: Here is your bird.
Song: Thanks.

Well, outcats can't be that bad!
