Hunt

Baby M and I are walking when I hear a squealing noise! It is coming from the river, and whatever it is obviously needs help.

Baby M sprints ahead, following his animal instincts, while I follow cautiously. He follows the scent of the animal making the squealing noise.



I see this poor pup being swept away in the current of a very large river. She doesn't seem to have any parents, and needs help!

Baby M jumps into the river, grabbing the pup with his teeth.

Baby M is swept away farther and farther downstream. The wolf pup struggles to stay above water. Baby M's grip loosens, and the pup struggling doesn't help. The pup slips out of Baby M's grasp. Baby M lands on a rock in the middle of the river, while the pup floats on. The pup is dragged under water, and I see her pop up again even farther downstream. I suddenly hear the roar of a waterfall.

I quickly jump into the water and swim to the pup and try to grab her, but I miss her by seconds.

Baby M swims me to safety, then jumps back in. He swims after the pup. They both get to the falls, and he grabs the pup out of mid air as it falls. He pulls back with all his might, using rocks to move away from the waterfall. The water is pushing against his back, but he makes it to the river bank. He lays the pup down, coughing and gagging. The pup curls up in my lap, shivering.

I stroke the pup gently as Baby M stands next to me, watching the pup.
