I waited until I was sure he was asleep and then silently stood up. "I'll be back." I whispered even though he couldn't hear me. I guess it just made me feel better. Like I had made a promise I wouldn't just fly away and never come back so he would be safe from me. I launched myself into the sky and sighed. Why is this the only place that feels like home. I thought, sadness twisting inside me. The only other place I felt at home was with Zeke. But still, I know he's holding some kind of anger towards me. Not that I can blame him.

Zeke continued to sleep soundly in the alleyway. It felt as though a strange weight had been lifted from him when she left. He sighed in his sleep and rolled onto his back. He was still quite confused about a lot of things. His eyes fluttered open and he realized she was no longer with him. He looked around sadly, although he knew it was probably for the best. He sat up and blinked away tears to no avail.

Serae got up and flew up. Higher, higher, higher still, until she could barely breathe. With a gasp she fell back down to where she could, and stayed there, looking at the stars.

I sighed and decided to head back before Zeke woke up. Unfortunately when I got there I found he was already awake. I landed beside him, guilt making my stomach lurch when I saw the tears on his face. "Zeke?" I asked quietly. "Are you alright?" I hesitated before sitting down. "I'm so sorry. I meant to get back before you woke up. I thought you would sleep longer."
