A B O U T
Hedgelings are little leafy canine-sized quadrupeds who flourish in areas full of plant life. After being hunted nearly to extinction thanks to the popularity of their colorful leaves, these critters are making a comeback because of a new domesticated subspecies bred by a special organization! In the wild, they live in areas such as forests, grassy plains, and taigas—anywhere with lots of flora. As they are plant-based creatures, they require plenty of water and sunlight to flourish, but they are also omnivores; they'll eat anything from fish to berries to small birds to nuts. Domestic hedgelings require sunlight and water just as much as their wilder counterparts, but are much friendlier and will gladly eat store-bought food (not that they'll turn down any tablefood you might offer!). It's best to keep them in areas either outdoors or with houseplants, as proximity to flora will make them feel more at home. Though each has their own personality, of course, they're generally depicted as lazy but cheerful housepets who are get along with almost anyone.
