I have one question though, Is there any other alternative to blue? I dunno, I just like to keep the syllable count as low as possible. Juniperfang just doesn't roll of the tongue very easily.

It's heartwarming for me to see someone giving honest reviews and presenting such useful advice. Hugs!
"Yellow-gray sounds a bit like a cat that's covered in pollen" <- This made me LOL

Blue does have an alternative - Pine- works as well, if I recall right. I chose Juniper- because of the extra implication of tabby, though, but if you're not going for traditional you can really do whatever you feel like, haha.

Glad to hear I'm doing a good substitute job!

(Sorry I'm using my forms, it's just easier not to have to re type. May I have a character review on each of them, please?)
Russetstar

Past names: Ruby, Russetpaw, Russetfang
Gender: She cat
Ran: Leader
Age: 45 moons
Eye color: Green
Fur color: Dark russet
Markings: She has a torn left ear
Family:
Mother: Dawn
Father: Bramble
Brother: Gingerstripe
Personality: Russetstar is a determined and fiery she cat that is known for not being afraid of battles that other cats would shrink from. Her temper can be red hot, but she can also show a softer side to certain cats, mostly her friends and others that she trusts. She is a great battle planner and can often use traps and feigns to win a battle with fewer losses, which is one of the reasons she was chosen as leader. She is not one to fall for toms or even think about love or having kits of her own because she sees her whole Clan as her kits, and protects them with a mother's love and fierceness.
History: As a kit, Russetstar was a rouge living with her mother, Dawn, and her brother, Red. Her name then was Ruby, and she learned the basics of hunting and defending herself from her mother. But then, a badger found its way into their den one day when Ruby and Red were six moons old, and Dawn died to save them. The siblings wandered for two sunrises, and crossed into Brightclan territory searching for food. A patrol found them and took them back to camp, where the leader at the time noticed that they had potential. There was a shortage of kits that year, so the leader allowed them to join Brightclan as Russetpaw and Gingerpaw. Russetpaw soon showed the clan that her skills in hunting and fighting were very useful, and soon outshone the other apprentices, even Gingerpaw. At twelve moons, Russetpaw earned her warrior name of Russetfang, and continued to serve her adopted clan with zeal. Many moons later, the previous deputy was killed in battle and the ageing leader, who was on his last life, chose Russetfang to be the new deputy. Only two moons later, the leader lost his remaining life to greencough and Russetstar gained her nine lives.

Gingerstripe

Past Names: Red, Gingerpaw
Gender: Tom
Rank: Warrior
Age: 45 moons
Eye color: Light green
Fur color: Ginger Tabby
Markings: Has a light stripe running down his spine
Personality: Gingerstripe is very loyal to his Clan and is very determined to do the absolute best on any task he is given, no matter if it is hunting, border patrol, battle, or going on a warrior mission, he always strives to do his very best. He does get very jealous easily, though, and tends to hold grudges longer than he should. She cats don't ever really look at him, but he would like to have a family someday, and dreams of it sometimes.
History: He was born as a rouge along with his sister. His rouge name was Red, abd he was taught the basics of hunting and fighting by his mother. At six moons, however, he and his sister were suddenly left alone when a badger attacked and killed their mother. They left their home and wandered for two sunrises, soon wandering into Brightclan territory. They were taken back to the camp and the leader at the time saw that they would be useful, as they had had few kits that year. They were accepted into the Clan as Russetpaw and Gingerpaw, but while Russetpaw was dazzling every cat, Gingerpaw was overlooked by many. He was average in his training, and slowly developed a hint of jealousy for his sister. When, at twelve moons old, he received his warrior name, Gingerstripe,he vowed that he would be important. Moons passed, and a battle between Clans resulted in the death of the deputy. To Gingerstripe's dismay, Russetfang was chosen for the deputy ship. He grew more resentful twards her, and they rarely spoke to each other. When, only a few moons later, Russetstar took her leader's place after he died, Gingerstripe finally vowed revenge. Will he get it?

He grew more resentful twards her, and they rarely spoke to each other. When, only a few moons later, Russetstar took her leader's place after he died, Gingerstripe finally vowed revenge. Will he get it?

Absolutely! Let's get started.

Russetstar

Name Suggestion: Russetclaw. If you want a different suffix, try Rowanclaw.
Name Reasoning: Russet- works fine for a dark ginger cat. As her skill lies in battle (in that she is good at combat, what with feints and the like!) she earns -claw. -fang is only for cats who are above average in hunting and fighting without excelling at either, and with that fighting skill of hers, I don't think she needs -fang!

Character Rating: 9/10.
Character Reasoning: Her story isn't half bad, in actuality. I'd give more thought to what the last leader promoted her for - was it her determination in the face of uncertainty? If that's the case, she might be the kind of cat who is hard to shake from her opinions and she may take a lot of discussion to even slightly sway her mind. This would be a good conflict in a story, actually; if you wanted to give a good central conflict, it may be that she doesn't want to back down from a threat even when it's completely unconquerable (i.e. Twolegs enroaching on their turf, or attempting to save a cat who died and whose body never showed up). Give her a motive; her motive may be to protect her Clan ideals, or it may be to protect tradition, or maybe she wants to defend her morality more than the Clan itself. Her priorities would be a good thing to think about!

Gingerstripe

Name Suggestion: Gingerstripe or Gingerpelt/fur.
Name Reasoning: Ginger is fine on him, but -stripe is only for cats that have no skill/trait that's notable enough for a prefix while having stark stripes, or ones that are notably darker than the base pelt. Naming for a single stripe (he should have multiple, as a tabby) isn't so useful in a name (as would be naming for nose color, or eye color, or a single part of the body). Coordinating suffixes aren't so welcome in traditional naming! That said, -stripe would be just fine if you made his tabby markings notable; it'd be a shame to leave him without -stripe when it could work with a bit of modification!

Character Rating: 7/10
Character Reasoning: I have to wonder why he'd vow 'revenge' when his sister didn't really do anything. I understand he's jealous and all, sure, but harboring aggressive emotions like that towards your own sibling could manifest itself quite violently later in life (and would be a little cliche!). I'd have to wonder why he didn't just try harder, and maybe even get skilled in something enough to earn another suffix. He might excel in hunting because of his ability to focus well on a task (and he may even do this to distract him from his sister's own success later in life).

I'd also like to note that loyalty is kind of the bread and butter of warrior cats - without loyalty, there is no Clan. There's something on the front page about this if you want to read more!

Name: Whitepaw
Description: Whitepaw, as pretty obvious, is a plain white cat, he has medium-lenghted fur, and sapphire blue eyes.
Important Notes: Whitepaw is a silent, secretive and double-crossing cat. He tends to hunt alone, and despises talking and interacting with others, thought he is loyal to his clan. He ia bit of a liar, and if theres something he wants to keep a secret, he'd be good with that. Whitepaw is a skilled hunter, though he doesn't use those skills quite often. No reason why.

Name: Crowfoot
Description: Blackish-blue tomcat with dark blue eyes, and a tiny bit of a lighter muzzle.
Important Notes: Crowfoot is kind and sweet, he loves to make friends, though he is a bit of a show off. He is also very fast on land, and usually races with others to proove himself; mainly because he wants to be deputy.
im quitting this game, i dont even enjoy it anymore, but i really did while it lasted!

Lakebriar is a she-cat with a slightly small build. Her eyes are a striking deep teal blue, and a bit large on her face. She has sleek fur that, at a glance, looks black, but upon a closer look has small silver and white dapples that seem to reflect light like rippling water. The fur on her tail is longer than the sleek fur covering her pelt, and is very soft. Her paw pads, nose, and inner ears are a dark shade of gray. Her claws are long and almost silver in color.
      p e r s o n a l i t y ;;
When she became a warrior, Lakebriar was named not only for her acute senses but also for her sharp demeanor. She usually speaks in a quiet tone and tries to avoid a confrontation, but in an argument she is a force to be reckoned with. Her hunting skills are particularly well, due to her delicate paws and quick senses. She has a love for water and fishing as well, due to her RiverClan ancestry, although she doesn't much care for the taste of fish. Lakebriar enjoys being alone, and dislikes other cats giving her orders, although she can be a bit bossy herself. She is also quite witty and sarcastic, and can make a quick, scathing retort in a conflict. She only opens up to cats she is close with and trusts. She can be very stubborn, and it's never easy to change her mind once she reaches a decision. Lakebriar can be sensitive or emotional at times, but has learned to mask her emotions with bluntness or humor. She refuses to discuss her past with anyone.

Hiya hi!

Whitepaw

Name Suggestion: Whitewhisker.
Name Reasoning: White- works fine. -whisker is for a skilled hunter. I'd like to say right now that disloyalty (he exhibits such, so saying he's loyal and also saying he's a 'double-crosser' is contradicting and not so good for him as a character) would imply he's not much of a Clan cat and you may want to reconsider his motives. Keep in mind that blue eyes on a white cat mean deafness in most cases - I suggest an eye color change to prevent such a thing!

Crowfoot

Name Suggestion: Crowfoot if he's a black-furred cat, Pinefoot if he's blue-gray.
Name Reasoning: I can't suggest Crow- if this cat's blue-gray. If he's a dark blue-gray you might be able to work with Dusk-, but Crow- implies a black-furred cat, and as he's otherwise it'd be wise to either change his pelt or his prefix. His suffix fits fines, however. Blue eyes on a black or dark-furred cat, additionally, is impossible genetically; if he had a good deal of white on him (>40%) he may be able to get away with it, but in this case, you may want to give him an alternate eye color, such as yellow or orange.

Absolutely! Thanks for submittin'.

Lakebriar

Name Suggestion: Starlingpelt/fur.
Name Reasoning: Lake- implies no particular color, as lakes can come in blue, brown, green, and I'm sure other colors depending on time of day, season, or what-have-you. -briar does nothing to imply personality or skills; at most, it might imply a prickly personality and not much else, so it's not so good for her.

Prefix-wise, I am not quite sure what to give this cat. Black-furred cats don't have lighter gray bits, ever - a cat is either dilute (gray, cream, light ginger) or not (black, brown, ginger) - but not a mix of the two. She'd be all clear for a black-implying prefix if you just removed the gray bits. Additionally, blue eyes on a black cat, as the above poster's, is impossible, and only exists on cats that have at least 40% or more white on them - you should probably add that much if you want to give this cat the blue eyes still! With this in mind, I'm offering Starling-, which implies a dark-furred cat with possible white markings, and -pelt or -fur, as she's got no notable skills.

Character Rating: 6/10.
Character Reasoning: Sorry to say, but she conflicts a lot. You call her quiet and passive in one moment and then go on to make her active and somewhat confrontational in another - which is she, at that point? You should probably refine her character a bit by focusing on whether or not she's angry often, or whether she's easily annoyed, or if she keeps herself isolated (in a sense) because she can't focus with other cats around. She might be the kind of cat who prefers working on her own (perhaps avoiding other Clanmates for some reason, though she shouldn't be to an extent that she won't sleep in the same den as her Clanmates). She may have a tendency to snap at cats who don't get what she says the first time around, and she may not actually be so courteous to cats unless her leader or a higher-up tells her to chill out. (And she'd maybe only do so begrudgingly!)

Re: Warrior Cat Names and Characters Reviewer

Postby Wolvine » Wed Dec 03, 2014 11:52 pm

Image/Description:
X
Name:
Deadeye
Gender:
molly
Clan:
forest fanclan
Rank:
elder
Personality/Skills:
Foul-mouthed and perpetually angry, Deadeye is frequently difficult and snappish. She is argumentative and has very little patience, growing extremely agitated very quickly especially with young apprentices and kits. Her restlessness and argumentativeness is derived from her growing anger at her failing body. Despite being retired, Deadeye has been an active member of the clan for a long time, still being a semi-successful hunter and fierce patroller, her reputation as a fierce brawler even in old age very much alive in She has recently however started developing a very stiff right back leg, and is no longer able to move as quickly or go out for as long. She is also hyper aware that she no longer remembers things as well as she could, which occasionally leads to even more arguments. Confined to camp, she has grown more and more frustrated, her pent up energy transforming the usually short-tempered and snappish cat into an ancient, sarcastic monster. Despite her attitude, she is fairly popular with warriors who knew her when she was younger and older apprentices who have learnt and respect her quirks.
Important Notes:
i love grumpy elders. im struggling with coming up with a prefix for her old name, -claw is pretty certain though.

Image/Description:
X
Name:
Knotpaw/whisker
Gender:
tom
Clan:
fanclan near the sea
Rank:
apprentice
Personality/Skills:
Knotpaw is a well-liked and sweet individual with a good disposition and a bright outlook. He's sharp and picks up things quickly if they're shown to him, and such finds learning battle moves and hunting techniques quite easy, able to recollect many of them. Sadly, he's unable to put these fighting moves into practise, as he finds even mock-battles with clanmates impossible. The idea of harming another cat is utterly beyond him. Due to this, he much prefers talking things out, and is becoming quite the little diplomat. He has no such qualms about killing prey however, and is a good hunter. Despite being quite bright, he's very susceptible and unable to make up his own mind, relying on others to make decisions. He's incredibly easy to influence, and seems to have no awareness of when he's being used or manipulated. Fortunately, due to his rather likeable nature and the fact he lives in a clan, this occurrence is rare.
Important Notes:
obviously the wader rather than a way of joining two bits of string or measurement
