Nissa listened with curiosity, astonished the humans would live in such an environment. Was nothing done to change it? Their young must die often if humans enjoyed killing and the air was so polluted. If one went close enough to shore, the air turned positively revolting.
Softly, Nissa murmured, "It is not surprising, then, that those of your number seek to take what is of the ocean back to your world. It is a common desire to replace a thing of little value with that of beauty."

Iris raised an eyebrow at the sea serpant, deciding not to interfere it seemed more interested in the two mermaids anyway. Something about treasure and a cave. Still, Iris carefully drew her poisoned blade and rested against the rock. With any luck she wouldn't have to use it – the sea serpant was large enough the poison could have a small effect anyway.

" Leave her alone!" I pull out my gold dagger and swim after the creature. When near I stab him hard in the side hoping to give the kind girl some time. " She's just scared!" Now i was glowing and flashing all kinds of colors making anyone from miles away be able to tell Where i was. How perfect.
