- I just plan out the whole thing in advance, usually. xD So, I'm working on a new RP...here's the intro so far:
[[...there's a place downtown...
...where the freaks all come around...]]
Welcome to Evexle City. Here, there, some people are born with born with...strange powers. They're feared; horribly, terribly feared. And why shouldn't they be? Most could kill you before you could blink, let alone beg for your life.
So, the others, the normal people unconciously began to control the freaks the only way they knew how: by making the freaks seem as if they were worth less than the regular people. They were spit on, enslaved, driven out of Evexle City. Gradually, the violence toned down, leaving a precarious but workable society.
Any child that began to exhibit signs that it would be a freak, was abandoned, its parents desperate to free themselves from being associated with the freak. The signs usally began occur within the child's first few years. The abandoned child would either be taken in by an older freak, most likely on the streets; or die.
Freaks are usually fairly obvious to tell by their looks; almost all of them possess at least one odd characteristic: unnaturally colored hair, abnormally tall, pointed ears, spotted skin, almost any little quirk possible. The rare freak that doesn't have anything unusual about their looks could hide their power, become, almost, maybe, a normal person. But they are few and far between. The others only have one way to make money: to [[perform]].
Yes, to show off their powers in Evexle Square, the once feared people reduced to scraping by selling their powers. At night, the Square is filled with freaks. Flames fly through the air, bodies are bent into impossible shapes, minds are read for a quarter a pop. The normals come, delight in the shows, toss coins into hats, and leave, each secretly thinking about how glad they are that they were not born a freak.
[[...]]
But what about the children who can't be abandoned? Who's families can't risk the suspicion of a disappearing or dying child, the shame of being related to a freak? High-class families...no, they can't risk it. Instead they have to hide their fanstatical powers, living their lives in the shadows, covering up the their freakish attributes. And their just as stuck in their position as the street freaks. But which life is better?
[[The grass is always greener on the other side.]]
