World of the Future, City of the Past (New and Accepting!)

The year is 2140. The world seems to have improved much in the last hundred years. Pollution is mostly gone, all energy comes from renewable sources, humanity finally discovered how to make chocolate healthy. But there's still one problem. Games. Video games have only improved in this time, changing from tiny blobs of pixels jumping around a little screen to fully immersive virtual reality games complete with smell. With games like that, who would ever want to log off? Well, there's the problem. Most people only log off their games to eat and sleep. Everything happens online. Most people are fine with this, and couldn't imagine life any other way. Then there's a few people who don't agree that life should work like that. They call themselves the Blackout, a sinister name for a not actually than sinister group. This year, the Blackout have decided to create a city free from all this. And so they found the city of Timewell and all move there. Nobody from outside can come to Timewell. Every member of the Blackout gave up all technology and tell their descendants the year was 1940.

The year is 2014, or so you believe. Man has walked on the moon, but not much more. Well, except for founding a now-independent civilization on the moon, but how would you know about that? You are a teenager living in the city of Timewell, and you've never left. Not counting vacation, but how would you know all your vacations are virtual reality simulations? Timewell is real, 2014 is real, life is fine. You believe.

Summary: In 2140 a city was created to seem like 1940. It is now 2214 outside Timewell, and 2014 inside Timewell. You live in Timewell, and have no idea it's 2214.
