Kathleen sat crisscross on her bed. Sighing, her eyes flicked up at Oliver, then back down at her comforter. "My last boyfriend... He was an angel." She stopped for a second to let that fact sink in. "Whenever her got mad, he'd pick me up and hurt me. I'd get lifted above his head to be slammed into a door or...the ground." She took in a deep breath. "I couldn't get him to stop until one day when Jordan heard screaming and banging coming from my room. He... killed the guy."
