He ended up standing there silently longer then a normal person would, and it took him a moment to snap out of it. Red cheeked in embarrassment he quickly apologized and explained that he had forgotten his wallet. It wasn't true, he had it in his pocket, but he didn't want to have to stand under anyone's stares for longer then needed. He decided to go to his second favorite coffee shop and quickly turned to leave. Taking long strides to cover more ground but keeping it slow enough he didn't look awkward as he reached the door and walked out, taking a deep breath as he did. He turned down the sidewalk and ducked his head, speeding his pace a bit. He wasn't really watching where he was going and it seemed to only happen in an instant as his body collided with another's and he slipped on an ice patch, landing in a snow drift on his rear.
Cursing lightly under his breath, he quickly pushed himself back up and tried to brush off most of the snow before it melted through his jeans, a little too late though. He looked over at the guy he'd run into and noticed the stick he had with him. Riley's eyes widened and he felt even worse, out of all his bad luck, he had to be the idiot to smack into a blind guy. Thinking quickly he grasped the other male's forearm and hauled him back up to his feet. "S-sorry." He chattered, the cold seeping through his thin jacket. "You alright?" He added in a slightly hushed, soft voice. The hazel-eyed boy's thoughts ran wild as he waited silently for a response, hoping against hope he wouldn't be hated now by this person. The notion made him start chewing nervously on his lip piercing and he shifted his weight from foot to foot.
