I only read fanfiction years ago. It wasn't really my thing, because I always kept on thinking "why is this only fanfiction". I mainly read about yaoi pairings (DaisukexSatoshi^^), but also some other, but mainly in german so I can't recommend any.
I don't read that much doushinji either, only sometimes (EdxMustang^^). Somehow amvs are more my thing.

Speaking of sports dorks, I'm going to try Kuroku no Basket.. but right now I'm watching SNK and Hataraku Maou-sama.. I'm also trying to finish Drrr!! and SAO II so... that'll have to wait.. XD

There's this shop in my country called Cex that sells reused stuff. There's a shelf on there called "World Cinema", which is basically where all the anime is, as well as presumably some not-anime stuff as well. Thing is, I'm a bit too nervous to look at it, since I'm all "what would my parents think" about a lot of things I like. I don't like talking about my personal life on the internet.
Anyhow, once I saw a DVD of a certain something I really love there. How can I become less fandomphobic?
