Well, Leo took a trip not to long ago actually
to the Amazon Rain forest. He went there to
learn more about his family and where
he came from. He arrived early in the
day, taking only a backpack with necessary
survival items in it, and a rough map of the
rain forest. He set out, with a guide who would
help him navigate through the thick
undergrowth searching for a small village
in the forest that he was told was where his
mother lived. There were so many questions
he had for her if he finally found her. He
walked for a while behind the guide without
anything happening, so they stopped for a
minuet by a river where Leo pulled out his
map trying to get an idea for where they
were, he stepped closer to the river trying
to get into the sunlight that was mostly
blocked by the thick rain forest canopy,
he edged a little closer than he should have
though and slipped crying out as his legs slid
into the water the map flying out of his hands
falling into the water where it was swept away
from him down the river. The guide grabbed
Leo pulling him back onto solid ground.
Leo sat on the ground for a second catching
his breath before getting up "Now what are
we going to do?" Leo asked his guide. The
guide shrugged "We'll have to just head in
a general direction, hope we get lucky."
The guide said shrugging again. Leo
sighed and headed off roughly in the
direction they were headed before.
They traveled again tromping on through the
forest before reaching another obstacle a
large cliff face with a 8 foot gap before
another large cliff face. Leo sighed
wondering what to do. He sat down on a
stump looking across the cliff span he
glanced up but all he could see was the
canopy It was very quiet out by the cliff as
Leo sat on the stump, then the silence was
broken by the shrieking of monkeys.
The monkeys ran out of the depths of the
rain forest still shrieking the monkeys leaped
up into the trees and ran along the branches
till they were mostly across the 8 foot gap
before leaping across the rest of the gap.
Leo stood up and climbed up one of the
trees. He slowly wandered out onto the branch
"Are you coming?" He called out to the guide
glancing back for a brief second. "Pff! In your
dreams! I'm not getting paid nearly enough
to do that!" The guide said scoffing he tossed
Leo up the supplies which Leo just managed to
catch before they fell, the guide stalked off
back into the depths of the rainforest.
Leo sighed and continued along the branch
he made it to the end and leaped over to the
other side of the cliffs. Leo looked back over
the edge of the cliff before shaking his fur
out and continuing into the rainforest.
He pushed through layers of leaves and
vines as he walked through the forest he
froze his fur standing on end as a fierce
growl was emitted from above him.
he glanced up and almost screamed at the
sight of the large leopard sitting up in
the tree looking down on him hungrily.
Leo stood frozen in place as the leopard
licked its lips. Leo was preparing
himself to make a mad dash away from the
leopard when four men dashed out of the
bushes brandishing spears they hollered
and yelled at the leopard, the leopard
shrieked in surprise and jumping out of
the tree it ran off into the rainforest.
Leo's mouth was hanging wide open
he stared at the four warriors who had
chased off the leopard. "Uuh, Thank you."
He said awkwardly "Do you happen to know
by any chance where I could find the Passe' "?
He asked they looked at him confused and
he sighed it looks like they didn't speak
english. Leo racked his brain for the right
words to say.
"uumm, Donde son el Passe' porfavor?"
He asked in spanish. Most of the warriors
still looked confused but one stepped
forward. "Quatros millas norte."
Said the warrior indicating which way was north.
"Ah! Gracias, Gracias!" Leo called out as he
scampered off into the direction the warrior
had indicated. He ran most of the way but
slowed himself after a while. "
Four miles."
he thought and let out a huff of air, but he was
determined to make it. He would not have come
this far to give up. So he trudged on making his
way through the rainforest only stopping to rest
twice before he came upon a small village of
huts all surrounding one large hut. "
This is it."
Leo thought grinning. This was where he would
finally know the answers. This was his home.
