She flew through the trees, her fur pressed flat against her body as she ran. This is what it means to be a wolf! She thought to herself joyfully. After a few more yards she pulled to a halt and threw her head back, letting out a long howl, signaling the end of her shift on patrol. Phew, I'm tired. Maybe I'll go inside and eat something that's cooked...

Hearing Akiras howl, he perked up and howled back, to say he would take over the patrol while she rested. He stood and shook out his fur before digging his claws into the dirt and lunging forward. As the beta male, he felt obligated to help out when one member of the pack needed to take a rest. He bounded forward, the wind in his face. He didnt mind being out here alone.

--- My attention was drawn to the distant, long howl of the beta, making me sigh, Akira must be done with her shift... I tell myself as I fiddle with my hair, leaning against a tree outside the camp grounds. Every since my pack was first attacked, we've been forced to move around and have been scattered for a while. It's not as bad as it used to be, finding a female here and there. For some reason, I wasn't in the mood to hunt, so I remained unmoved and apparently waiting to be yelled at. Ever since my mom was taken by the hunters, I've closed up emotionally, causing myself to become quiet and shy. As I sigh once more, I feel a sudden gust of air rush past me, causing me to look towards its direction. I smile for I already knew who it was. It was Jackson, the beta male. When he was in his 'human form', he was a bit taller than me, being older and all. I found myself quite fond of him, but would never be able to tell him that. I smile softly to myself as he disappears into the brush, leaving nothing but rustling leaves.

He continues to patrol the border, rushing past Nanami, the lead hunter. He was tempted to yell at her for standing around not doing anything but decided to let it go. She has had enough to deal with lately, and they could all use a bit if a break. He looked at the treeline, his ears pricked to see if anyone was out there. When he didnt sense anyone, he transformed into his human form and stretched out his arms. He yawned lazily and looked up at the sky for a moment, before transforming again as a wolf and continued the patrol.
