lucas frowned, turning on his side uncomfortably at the noise. within a few minutes of unsuccess, he searched through the beings in which he knew, testing their emotions, most coming through blank. he then flinched, climbing down from the tree with agile movements, biting his lower lip. yet, he didn't go to the ground, he creeped upon the branches towards the sound, taking his time until he reached the scene. luke's eyes narrowed to adjust through the darkness, crossing his arms and staying silent. she was rude, shouldn't even help her.

The person looked at battle "you are just expirements who need to be destro.." he managed to say before getting punched in the jaw by max's other hand.

[Pounce the Cat]

"Nice punch," Battle told Max, glaring at the guy. "You're just a human who needs to learn a lesson," Battle responded to the guy and kicked him in the leg.

Max
"Thanks" she said, looking at the two other guys looking at them. She glanced at battle and suddenly ran at them, flying over them with great speed and landing behind them and kicked one.

[Pounce the Cat]

The other one came at her with a knife and Battle threw a burst of fire at him. He dodged it, but his hair caught on fire and he stopped to put it out. Battle grabbed his head, the flame not bothering her skin at all and pushed his head down to meet her knee. He yowled and stumbled back, but Battle cold cocked him in the face and he was out cold. Not wanting to ill the guy or start a wildfire, she put out the flame on his head.

Max
She turned to hit the other guy again, but he was standing, a gun pointed at her and shot. The bullet hit a bone in her wing, and since the bones are hollow, it snapped. Max shrieked and grabbed a near by branch and hit him in the back of the head, which he fell over unconcious. Max looked at her wing, which was in odd amgle, as she tried to move it, a spurt of pain ran through it into her back and she was sitting on the ground, hiding her face.

luke frowned, rubbing his forehead. he then leapt down from the branch, watching over the scene solemnly, resting his hand onto her shoulder. "kleil?" he bit his lip, blinking down at her petit figure, the whole reason for his little name.

Max
She muttered something, not lifting her head, hiding the fact she was crying. "They make us just to destroy us" she said, her voice changing pitches during the sentence.

luke shook his head, crouching down towards the ground. "no - no; they make us to live, just they expect us to hand over our freedom, in which we will not stand. you must look at the bright side." he pat her shoulder; "come on kleil, let's get you cleaned up."
