"Well, I don't know about you, but I'm starving!" He smiled down at the apprentice. The poor thing looked so.. unsure. Hawkstar wanted to bring out the best in Bearpaw, but he needed her to come out her shell just that little more."I'll race you to the fresh kill pile!"

Ashpelt sighed, glancing back at the young cat."Poor kid. He'll be stuck doing nothing all morning. Oh well, I'm sure he'll use his initiative and do something productive." He trotted neatly alongside Silverblaze.

Galestrike nodded at Bluefire. "That's good to hear." he replied. "I slept pretty well too." Glancing around, Galestrike got to his paws and made his way over to the fresh kill pile. He picked up a mouse and went back to his spot beside Bluefire. "You hungry?"

Bluefire smiled at Galestrike. "Very." She nodded.

Silverblaze dips her head slightly in agreement. "I would think so. He's an intelligent cat after all," she replies with a soft purr. Returning her attention to the fresh kill pile, she stops before it, before finding a plump mouse. Grasping it in her jaws, she walks just away from the pile to wait for Ashpelt.

Nightshade slinks from the warriors den, having had a bit of a late night she had slept in slightly, before gazing around the camp. Her gaze slowly drifts around the wakening camp, blue eyes slightly narrowed. Maybe she would go out pn a solo hunt or something.

The brown she-cat tilted her head at his eager words, a flicker of amusement running through her. She flexed her forepaws on the ground and was about to respond when he spoke again, causing her gaze to widen. "What?" she mewed, caught off guard by the leader asking her to race. Hah, but okay! A slight smirk appeared over her muzzle, and she bobbed her head. "Three, two, one, go!" Bearpaw rumbled, her tail whisking from side to side before she pounced away in the direction of the fresh-kill pile.

She barely caught the sight of his wink and easily understood it as one of his friendly gestures. She nodded at his agreement to her statement of it being a strange coincidence, but still not wrong. " Hmm, Embertail sounds good. We could bring Nightshade along as well. She seems to not currently be busy. " She said and then added in her suggestion of someone else who could join their border patrol.

As he listened quietly to bits and pieces of everyone's conversations, he heard his name mentioned. He casually perked his ears to hear what they were talking about. It sounded like they were going on either a hunting patrol or a border patrol and they mentioned his and Nightshade's name as in a way in suggestion of who they could ask to join them on it.
