Today was a good day - nice weather, and a weekend, which meant that most were either with their friends or doing nothing. Mani was currently doing nothing - not really having too many friends she could hang out with. She was at the local park, just sitting on one of the benches, thinking. She could sense some staring at her - most of them she could tell were guys, and she physically rolled her eyes. They were probably planning to do something - or something along those lines.

Castor blinked his eyes as he sat on a branch. Here he was, at the edge of his forest. Beyond that was the world he never dared travel; in other words, the city. He never ventured too far from the canopy of the trees, unless he was able to fly high enough so that no one would notice him. Today, he decided to do just that, and took flight on his massive black wings. He spiraled higher and higher into the sky, the wind in his fur. As he did so, he looked down, and decided that he was at a good height to see the city. He flapped his wings once, then glided on the wind, glancing down every once in a while.

[hmmmm...I dunno, maybe he can either be hit by the sky and falls, or...well, thats all I got |D]

Mani then got up from the place she was sitting, and left the park. She needed to go and think somewhere, where there was no one watching her. She did not like it when others watched her - not that it made her feel uncomfortable, but she really disliked it when some looked at her the way they did. She only stared at the ground as she walked, but her ears perked, staying alert in case something around her happened.

Castor was enjoying his flight, but an abrupt change of the wind current put him in disorientation. His wings flapped twice, and the air pressure altered, causing a cold breeze to whip into his face, with enough force to compete with a slap. His head veered to the left, and he tried to spread his wings; a futile attempt, as everything was moving too fast for him to cope with. His right wing was now pressed to his side, and his tail, which usually acted as a rudder, fluttered helplessly in the air. Too late, Castor realized, he was falling. By the time he managed to extend his right wing, he was close to the ground. He managed to slow down, but he landed on a road close to the forest with a bone-jarring thud.

[ Maybe she noticed him fall and thought he was a really big, really stupid bird and tried to investigate? cx ]

Mani took occasionally glanced at the sky, and around her to make sure she didn't walk into anything. At one point, when she had looked at the sky, she had seen something - not really sure what it was - seeming to be...struggling in the air? She watched for a moment as the shape then fell, she flicked an ear, and it went out of sight. She decided to go investigate - not like she had anything better to do, and it hadn't landed too far away, but the looks of it. It took her a couple of minutes, but she eventually got to a road that was near the forest - she never went in there, but it was good the...thing, or whatever it was, hadn't landed in there. She saw it on the road, and she went over.

He was lucky his legs weren't broken. When he landed, Castor had managed to tuck his legs in and curled up into a ball, rolling to absorb impact, though his body still shook as he got up. He was glad he hadn't fractured or hurt his neck, but his left foreleg didn't feel like itself; in fact, it was definitely injured. How bad, he didn't know, but he had to limp. As he rose, the injured leg was tucked against his chest, and he had to spread his wings to secure his balance. He shuffled awkwardly, wondering how difficult it would be to take flight in his condition. He managed to move to one edge of the road, where he sat down to rest his rattled bones. Then he looked to the opposite end, where he noticed some else; alarm bells rang in his head as he realized he was spotted. No going back now, he decided, and tried fixing a hostile stare at the other wolf. He got up on his less shaky hindlegs.

Mani watched the other wolf, not saying a word or moving forward across the road towards him. She blinked her eyes once. "Seems like your not very good at flying, is it?" She said, noticing the wings the other wolf had - he must have either flew into something or the wind changed on him. "Or landing." She had quickly added - her tone wasn't sympathetic, but it was hard - cold, almost. She couldn't trust this wolf, but she was curious a fair bit. This better not be a waste of time. She thought to herself.

On the opposite side of the road, Castor growled. He held his left elbow with his right paw, his wings raised to shield him from the other wolf. How stupid of him to have fallen mid-flight. Now what was he to do? He had a main problem: speech. Over the years, he'd healed the occasional lost traveler, picked up words from them, but he never did feel comfortable talking. He'd always chucked healing potions into the injured, but those potions doubled to erase recent memories. He contemplated dragging the wolf in front of him, all the way to his cottage, just to erase her mind and be done with it. Then again, such a plan was flawed, so he said nothing more, just a wordless snarl rising in his throat.
