But now there's a new place to explore. Welcome to the Kodai Region. This Poke-Paradise has been isolated for hundreds of years, leading to many exciting developments and even their own League Challenge.
However, it's not all fun and games. A new evil is rising, attempting to use the power of the Ultimate Shadow Pokemon known as Vaat. Sealed deep inside a shrine by Arceus, Vaat has slept for many years, and the Kodai Region has experienced peace. But… an ancient evil is working, working to break the seal. Making a team of darkness, the Team Kage, she is using them to ravage the Kodai.
And when even the former Champion and the strongest Elite Four have been taken down, you know things are pretty bad.

And this is where you come in. A letter arrives in your mailbox, saying,

"Dear _____,

If you are seeing this letter, then be pleased with the knowledge you are recognized as a skilled trainer. We have selected you to explore the new region known as Kodai. We have also given you a choice of one of three previously unknown Pokemon to take with you: Nyanchan, Umirret, or Leafine. It will be up to you how they evolve and grow…

Included with this letter is a ticket for the SS Aqua. However, if you choose to challenge the Kodai, it's not all fun and games...
Please meet me at the Pokemon Laboratory in Orchid Town- oh, and do be careful not to get lost in the maze of tunnels.

One last thing, please do not bring more than one Pokemon from any other region as this may cause unwanted…problems.”

Fire Type
Fire Lion Pokemon
A lion-like Pokemon with three stages. It starts out looking like a kitten with a small, fluffy red mane and a fiery tail much like Monferno, then evolves into larger and fiercer versions of itself. Its final stage has been scientifically compared to a more feline version of the Pokemon Arcanine. Shishio's claws burn with temperatures over 1000 degrees F.

Water Type
River Ferret Pokemon
The River Ferret Pokemon is a long-bodied, weasel-like Pokemon with short, water-repellent blue fur and bubble-like markings on its lower body. It is a natural hunter on both land and water. Lives naturally in places with a flowing water supply. As it evolves, it gets larger and begins to resemble both physically and behaviorally a bipedal bear rather than a ferret.

Grass Rabbit Pokemon
Many have said previously that Leafine is a mutated strain of Chikorita with long ears, however its evolutions prove otherwise. Bipedal Midoko and Midosage, despite their short legs, are capable of jumping into trees to pick fruit and escape enemies, however this behavior is rarely seen in captivity.

Geography
Orchid Town: A country town which happens to also house Professor Green’s Lab, and one of the few entrances to a massive maze of tunnels.
Darscuro Town: Home to the Ghost Gym and Spook Badge. Its real Leader is on a journey so the Gym was taken up by a reformed Team Kage Admin, Rhiannon.
Soruka City: A city located in the sky on a hovering platform made with ancient, unknown technology. Its original people longed to be close to the sun and so built machines to reach higher and higher into the sky. Despite its technological advances, its Sun Temple remains a central place of worship for its people. Its gym is led by twins named Ren and Lin.
Atlantica City: An ancient underwater city that was discovered and covered in a glass bubble to make living there possible. Led by Aurora, a descendant of the original people of Atlantica.
Koyo City: The city of perpetual autumn. Bird Pokemon are seen in abundance year-round. Mika leads its Gym.
Moderite City: An extremely modernized city, its Gym is led by Cassandra.
Sango City: Very close to the Ancient Ruins, it is a town in a forest where people have long revered an ancient dragon Pokemon. Its gym is led by Brance.
Oasill Town: An oasis town located in the harsh no-man’s land on the other side of the Lunar Mountains. Accessible by the tunnel system or by using Fly, though its raging weather patterns make flight extremely hazardous. Its gym is led by Wesley.
Winterstone District: A chilly mining district covering about a 1/5 of Kodai that completely freezes over in the winter. Despite its huge size, it has less population that of Moderite City. Its gym is located in the heart of the district, and upon its icy throne sits a man named Cory.

Important Places
Ancient Ruins: The place where the bones of a once worshiped emerald dragon lies.
Lunar Mountains: A mountain range nearly at the northern edge of the Kodai. Deep in its depths, a legendary Pokemon who represented the moon is said to sleep.
Sun Temple: A place where a legendary Pokemon who represented the sun was once- and still is- worshipped.
Darscuro Town Graveyard: A graveyard near Darscuro Town, and a site recently targeted by Team Kage for unknown reasons.
The Tunnels: A maze of tunnels that spread beneath the entire Kodai. In a legend, it is said they were created long ago by a giant mechanical Pokemon powered by steam.
The Mines: Practically all of the Winterstone District is mining territory. Precious gems and many Rock, Ground, Steel, and Ice type Pokemon as well as abundant danger can be found here.
Crystal City: A place deep underground mentioned only in whispers and rumors, this is where the remaining members of the Pokemon League secluded themselves at the beginning of Team Kodai’s takeover. Its exact location is unknown.

Information - Key Pokemon

Arceus: Although well-known in every region, the legend of Arceus is somewhat different in the Kodai. Here, it is said that Arceus created the seven regions in five days, living beings on the sixth day, and rested in the Kodai on the seventh. Later, he was the only one who could stand up to his creation Vaat, and sealed him inside a shrine.
Aerosem: An ancient, legendary dragon of emerald who once lived in the Ancient Ruins. In the present day, its bones lie in its former home.
Solaris: The Sun Phoenix Pokemon, whose flame is worshipped in Soruka City’s Sun Temple. It sleeps somewhere unknown.
Lumis: The Lunar Equus Pokemon, who sleeps in the Lunar Mountains. It is said that Lumis towed the moon across the sky in ancient times.
Vaat: Created by Arceus along with Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina, in his quest for power he became the Ultimate Shadow Pokemon, even stronger than the man-made XD001:Lugia and XD002:Suicune. He turned and rebelled against Arceus, but was defeated and sealed inside a shrine by Arceus. He is now guarded by Palkia and Dialga in a shrine located in Giratina’s world so that he will never escape and cause trouble for the world again. Inside the shrine, he is still faintly conscious and commands those who follow him to do his work.

Information - NPCs

Professor Green- The late Professor Oak of Kanto’s grandson. He is continuing his grandfather’s mission in the Kodai Region, alongside his old rival and Kanto’s former champion Red.
Red- The missing champion of the Kanto region, after being gone for years he finally turned up in the Kodai Region and now helps out Professor Green with his work.
Team Kage- The criminal organization of the Kodai Region. Their goal was much like Cipher’s in the hidden Orre Region, but on a much larger scale. They plan to obtain Vaat’s power to turn all Pokemon to shadow and with Vaat’s claws, control the entire world. They are intelligent, utilizing stolen superior and ancient technology, and unlike other criminal organizations, realize that their efforts are a double-edged sword. However, they believe they are prepared for this- and this arrogance of theirs may be their only weakness.
At its foundation are the fourth Elite Four, Nalo, and the Champion, Griffin. These powerful brothers were possessed by a ghost who serves the Ultimate Shadow Pokemon; and now with Kodai's Pokemon League split in two, there is no one to oppose Team Kage's conquest.
Team Kage Leader, Griffin: The former Kodai champion, he was possessed by a ghost and now leads Team Kage.
Team Kage Top Admin, Nalo: Champion Griffin’s younger brother, he was the Steel-type-using fourth member of the Elite Four before being possessed by the same ghost as his brother.
Leader Rhiannon: The leader of Darscuro Town’s gym. As a reformed Team Kage member, she makes it her duty to diligently repel Team Kage’s attacks on the nearby graveyard with her team of formidable Ghost types. Holds the Shadow Badge.
Leader Cassandra: A powerful psychic, she leads Moderite City’s gym. Holds the Fluorite Badge.
Wesley of Oasill Town.: A Ground-type Gym Leader hailing from the Orre Region, he leads Oasill Town’s gym. He holds the Desert Badge and uses his Pokemon to calm the raging sandstorms of the nearby area.
Mika of Koyo City.: The bird user of Koyo City, her skill and beauty have earned her much (if rather unwanted) fame. She holds the Fall Badge.
Cory of the Winterstone District.: A tough man despite his fragile appearance, he spends much of his time supporting the miners with his Ice Pokemon. He holds the Glacial Badge.
. Ren and Lin of Soruka City.: Twins who use Normal-types to defend their Special Badge. They have a close bond and also perform duties as priests during ceremonies and festivals in the Sun Temple.
Aurora of Atlantica City.: A Water-type user descended from the ancient people who once lived in Atlantica City. She battles with the regal bearing of a queen against challengers who wish to earn her Torrent Badge.
Brance of Sango City.: Every region has one, and Brance is Kodai’s. Sango City’s Dragon-type master holds both a plethora of knowledge of ancient legends as well as the Mastery Badge.
First Elite Four, Jess.: The first member of the Elite Four, she is a Grass user and artist whose creativity shows through in her battle style.
Second Elite Four, Hanabi. The second member of the Elite Four, she is a Fire-type user who lost an eye when she was little in a pyrotechnics accident.
Third Elite Four, Sen. A user of Dark-types, the third member of the Elite Four is a mysterious man who suggested that the remaining Elite Four go into hiding after Team Kage’s rise.

Nature: As her partner pokemon, Sawsbuck often tends to be very careful, just like her. He is quite protective of Ayu. Having been with her for a long time, he is her most trusted pokemon and the two are very used to each other.
Level: 58 (How high a level are they supposed to be? I figured since they conquered the region they would be pretty high levelled, but I can change this if it's not right. )

Things left unsaid...
Personality: Ayu has more of a quiet, actions speak louder than words kind of personality. She tends to keep to herself and most often then not when someone starts a conversation with her she is polite but sooner or later trails off, leaving a slightly awkward silence. This makes her a little hard to get along with, but Ayu simply isn't the chatty type. She likes spending time outdoors with nature and her pokemon whilst shunning human developments, which is partly why she does so well as a pokemon trainer, as she spends a lot of time on it. In her mind, everything can be conquered with a plan and lots of patience. She is a very patient person, and will spend hours doing something if she sets her mind to it. However, to get her to commit in the first place is quite a chore as she tends to be very careful about what she agrees to, but if she agrees you can rest assured that she will get it done. Because of her antisocial reactions, some people think she doesn't like other people and may just grow up into the pokemon equivalent of a crazy cat lady, but that is not true. She likes other people, she just thinks they talk too much. Which may sound a little contradictory, but when one is willing to endure her bouts of silence, Ayu is usually quite happy to spend some quiet time with them. When others are willing to hang out with her, Ayu is often incredibly happy, though she wouldn't show it, and is undyingly loyal.

Having more of a tactical mind, Ayu is more of a think before you act kind of person, and when she doesn't know something she is thinking about she will appear a tad agitated, but just leave her alone to think for a while. Sometimes she may even approach others and ask for their opinions, which usually startles them. Ayu simply has her own thoughts, and whilst she sticks to them firmly, she understands that others have their own opinion and usually doesn't argue about these kinds of things.

In a sentence, Ayu would simply be a slow, methodical, slightly socially awkward girl that does get the job done when she agrees to it.

History: Ayu was born in the region of Unova, and not being lucky enough, was not one of those chosen to have the pokedex. All the same, she lived quite happily with her family, and at the age of seven, her father caught her her very own pokemon in the grass a little ways away. It happened to be deerling, and she treasured it greatly. She went on an adventure, building up a team, challenging all eight gyms and then conquering the elite four. After that, she returned home, not really wanting to be a gym leader or anything and simply wanting to spend time with her pokemon. However, she received the letter from the professor and after much deliberation, decided to go, leaving her other five pokemon with her family as she headed off with her partner, now a sawsbuck, to go and check out this new region.
