◣..................................................................................◢ After years and years of running smoothly, Montgomery Gate is in anarchy. Some prisoners escaped their cells and disabled the generator, hoping that it would open the gate in the wall around the prison and allow them to go free. Unfortunately it opened up everything except the gate, and now every prisoner and security guard is trapped inside the city-sized prison. The guards can't maintain order, so it's every man for himself. Some prisoners are banding together to try and survive until either someone gets the gate open or the military arrives to put down the insurrection. This RP will focus on one small group of prisoners and a handful of security guards as they try to survive.
More About Montgomery Gate
As I mentioned, the prison is basically a city surrounded by a wall. The wall cannot be climbed, dug under, or broken through.
There are six different regular cell blocks in the prison and each are about the size of a regular prison, maybe a bit bigger. There are three for men and three for women. They each have four floors, a cafeteria, a gym, and security posts for the guards. There may also be other rooms besides these that I haven't thought of at this moment. Each set of three cell blocks has one huge yard that belongs to all three buildings. A tall chain-link fence separates the men's yard from the women's yard. This fence was quickly broken through once the prisoners escaped, but it is still perfectly intact in other places.
There is a smattering of other cell blocks in the prison as well. There's a building for the most dangerous prisoners like murderers and repeat offenders. There's also one for protected prisoners (i.e. people well known and hated enough to get killed around regular prisoners and therefor need special protection.) There's another for the criminally insane. There are four for solitary confinement, a typical punishment in the prison. These buildings have better security, so despite the generator failure, many of the prisoners in these buildings are having trouble getting out or getting in. At the start of the RP, these buildings will not have been opened yet, but you know crap is going down when they do.
Other buildings include the main security office, a large building where all security from patrols to cell searches gets coordinated; a well stocked hospital that doubles as offices for the psychiatrists; a fire department; maintenance buildings for the generator, other electrical components, and plumbing; warehouses for storing supplies; garages for trucks that handle transport of supplies, prisoners, and security guards; an armory with a variety of firearms and crowd control tools; and finally, apartments for all workers from security guards to maintenance workers and cooks to stay. There is also a helicopter pad on the roof of the security building, but no helicopters have fallen into the hands of prisoners yet. Security is planning on destroying them if prisoners manage to take the security building.
I may add more information if I think it becomes necessary or if the prisoners discover a new area of the prison. Pay attention to the news as it will give you updates on the state of the prison.
