- A p p e a r a n c e : Celeste has a slim figure and pale skin. She has black hair in two large twin-drill pigtails, red eyes, gold earrings, and black nail polish. Celeste wears a Gothic Lolita-style outfit, consisting of a white blouse with a Peter-Pan collar, a black jacket that includes white ribbon lacing down the sleeves, fastened by a simple ribbon across her chest to show her red tie with a butterfly pattern on it and the waist of her skirt, which is many-tiered and features white lace. She wears knee-high stockings trimmed in ladder lace, red mary janes with a thick heel, a white lace headpiece and a silver, almost weapon-like ring on her index finger.
- P e r s o n a l i t y : An experienced gambler, Celeste appears collected and cunning by nature. She possesses the ability to manipulate others into her bidding and can lie with a straight face.
Celeste is shown to be fairly intelligent, referencing several aspects of game theory such as Prisoner's Dilemma or Zero Sum Game, but her short-temperedness surfaces when something fails to go as well as she expects it to. Celeste also show her politeness to the others as she use polite language whenever she talk to the others.
Beside what mentioned above, Celeste is an ambitious person, she declared that she will do anything whatever it takes to win.

- A p p e a r a n c e : Nagito has a long dark green coat that goes down past his knees. His coat has red squares on his right shoulder, and a red number '55'. He wears a plain white shirt with a strange red symbol on it. His pants are black male skinny jeans and has a long chain that attached from the back to the front of them with a small skull charm attached to it. His shoes are brown, and they appear to be zipped up rather than being tied or using velcro. Nagito has messy shoulder-length white hair, light gray eyes, and he usually has a smile on his face.
- P e r s o n a l i t y : Nagito first comes off a polite and kind boy, but he sometimes has a breakdown. After showing his true colors, he begins to ramble on about how hope is the most important thing in the world, and that hope that is created from beating despair is the most amazing feeling that one could have. Nagito also doesn't really care for his own life. He also considers himself worthless when compared to the other Students, claiming that his luck talent is pathetic and that he was born a talentless person who will never be considered anything special. Later, however, he finds his luck to be incredible to turn out as King and tells the other students to believe in themselves and Nagito's own luck.

- A p p e a r a n c e : Ibuki has a style of clothing that is very unlike what one would think a Light Music Club member would wear which includes ripped thigh highs, piercings and many accessories. Ibuki has a long scar with stitches on her left thigh. It is revealed that the scar is a tattoo. She has long multi-coloured hair consisting of black, pink, blue and white, some of which is tied into two horns on the top of her head. She wears a school uniform.
- P e r s o n a l i t y : At first, Ibuki is a bit shocking in bold and unique personality and appearance. She seems to break the fourth wall a bit, often referring to herself in third person as if she's aware she's in a video game. Her hearing is quite good, unsurprising of her talent as a musician. Ibuki is one of the more upbeat people out of her classmates. When she gets upset, she seems to have a bit of a verbal tic: saying things twice. She also likes screaming or frothing at the mouth when she panics.
She also calls everyone by their first name and puts “-chan".

- A p p e a r a n c e : Junko has a tall, feminine figure. She has pale blue eyes and long, thick, strawberry blonde hair tied in two pigtails, with Monokuma hair clips. She wears a black cardigan over a white loose dress shirt, and has many accessories, including a loose black-and-white tie and red bow. Junko also wears a red miniskirt and lace-up boots. She has long, fake red nails. Her appearance and personality will often shift in sync with one another, as they are interdependent.
- P e r s o n a l i t y : Junko is, a young fashionista who took the country by storm with her extravagant tastes. Junko had wanted to be a model ever since she was a child, but was also eager to try new things.
Junko's personality and mannerisms tended to be extremely erratic and unstable by her own autonomous design; she states that keeping up one "appearance" for too long bores her. Junko often switched between "moods," which includes her Monokuma persona, and four other manners of speech which included complexes of cuteness, severe depression, sophistication, and superiority; she switched between "moods" regularly, often imitating other students' expressions, which made for highly unsettling conversation to the survivors. She is also shown to be intelligent, cunning, somewhat impulsive, and very manipulative as shown by her being able to manipulate an unknown number of people into Ultimate Despair.
Above all, however, Junko was deeply obsessed with despair, having found despair to be one of the most enjoyable emotions for her, whether it be the inflicting of despair unto others, or suffering from despair wholeheartedly.
