I nod smoothly,"Great! Do you want to ear before or are you happy to go straight out again?" What with it being Leaf-fall and Leafbare on the way, the Clan needed to be well fed so we could survive the harsh sea winds and soaking, freezing pelts all through it! Without being well fed we would surely loose our elder Mousetail and possible some of the younger apprentices, and that would be very bad for the Clan come Newleaf.

"Well, don't snap at me!" I grumble "He should talk to you, or else come and join me in the elders den and leave the Clan in your capable paws! He should trust you more!" I state nodding slowly before settling muself more comfortably on some moss "Go and get something for my joints, please!! You should be glad I said please, I normally don't!" I laugh a weezing laugh

I look around camp, the only apprentice I can see is Bearpaw, who is talking to Hawkstar. I go and loiter nearby, listening to find out if she is going anywhere with her mentor or if she is free to do what she wants today like me.

Silverblaze waits patiently, her tounge rasping against her chest for a few more strokes, before simply awaiting Ashpelts return. Her may opens in another large yawn, but that was nothing a good run or something cant fix. Maybe she will go for a swim or something if she isnt assigned to any patrols. Their werent many threats around here, but one could never be too careful! At the tom cats return, she gets to her paws. "All ready!" She mews happily, her tail swishing back and forth in contentment.

She had just finished up a vole she'd picked from the pile when he asked her. It was an odd coincidence that she was about to ask him herself about going on a border patrol, but not in a bad way. It was good in fact that she knew he wanted to without asking herself. " I'd love to. In fact I was about to ask you the same thing, what a funny coincidence. " She replied as she stood up.

He stretched carefully as he looked around. He took in all of the sights, by that meaning all of his clan members and the sounds of nature. He didn't eavesdrop but he did kind of listen in on a bit of each conversation in case there was something important that he would need to know.

Bearpaw stood where she was, and politely inclined her head to the larger tom in response to his greeting. "Morning," she rumbled in return, her voice its usual deep thrum. The brown she-cat lifted her head, icy gaze flitting past Hawkstar's face and around camp briefly, taking notice of a few others, particularly another apprentice, Brackenpaw, before returning to her mentor. "Uh, no, I have not." she mewed, wrinkling her nose. She'd been up for quite awhile, but the thought of food hadn't passed over her mind. Well, perhaps it was due to the fact that she always felt wary of taking fresh-kill in case she wasn't supposed to. She shifted her paws slightly, eyes hesitant.

Fishpaw
The young tom sheepishly crawls out of the apprentice's den. He had slept in against Ravenfur's wishes and knew he was going to get a scolding. He had one of the top warriors in camp, the deputy, as his mentor and yet still took it upon himself to sleep in and slack off a bit. Trying to avoid being spotted by his mentor, Fishpaw slinks towards the medicine cat's den- hoping perhaps he could help out the medicine cats while hiding out for a while.

Stonetooth
The old tom is laying outside his den, sunning his scruffy grey fur in the lay of light shining over him. It was a nice day to soak in the warmth and feel good. Supplies were stocked up, nobody was actively sick.

"I wasn't hiding him, I swear!" the old tom says over his shoulder as the deputy enters the den, eyes glittering with amusement. He could have guess something like this would happen. "I'm full aware he's got tasks to complete, he waltzed in when I had my head turned." Ravenfur and Fishpaw were very much opposites. Ravenfur was a determined and hard working cat, while Fishpaw was known to slack and even defend his horrible habits. The fluffy apprentice had an awful mouth on him- but Ravenfur's wrath wouldn't get to hear it.

He shrinks and cringes as he hears his mentor's hiss, busted and caught with his tail between his legs. Frustration rumbles in his belly as the medicine cat doesn't help save his pelt, trying not to glare at him as he slinks out of the den at Ravenfur's orders. His black ears lay flat against his head, body low to the ground. There wasn't any way to defend himself in this matter- he had woken late and snuck off to hide. Then been caught. The young apprentice can only imagine what annoying tasks he was going to be assigned.

"Look- I swear on my claws I didn't mean to wake up late-... I just, uh.. I.." the defensive words tumble out anyway, more embarrassing then anything. They weren't going to help him. He shuffles uncomfortably, trailing off.

I watch the conversation intently and when Fishpaw slinks out of the den with his ears and tail drooping so low they were both pretty much trailing in the dust, I burst out in a weezing laugh. "I'm sure apprentices are getting lazier! When I was an apprentice you had to be up and ready to work by dawn or you had to do the worst jobs rather than the best ones!"
