The Tom flicked an ear, breathing slowly. As he walked over to Gingerpaw, he stopped. Of course, someone had beaten him. Once again, he was left with no one to talk to. Muttering under his breath, he walked out of camp. Perhaps he could find Fallenleaf.

"Gullpaw!" He called over to the apprentice "what's up? Are you going to training today? Maybe we should all just not go today"

The Tom spun around, facing the younger apprentice. "Err.." He said, flattening his ears. "I can't exactly skip today's lessons. I'm having my final assessment in a week; I can't afford to miss anything now." Wincing, he cleared his throat. "Sorry Gingerpaw," he said, sitting down. "But surely maybe you could come today?"

"That's a foolish idea." FallenLeaf mewed, blinking his deep amber gaze to the cat who suggested not training. "Training is necessary." He huffed out a breath, flicking his oddly colored tail. Without another he turned, padding off to leave his younger sister sitting in his shadow.

Gasping, he turned his head as a familiar voice interrupted their conversation. "Fallenleaf!" He said, shocked. As his mentor walked away, he flashed a glance at Gingerpaw that read 'sorry'. Running after his mentor, he skidded to a hault beside him. "What are we doing today?" He said, tilting his head

"Would you prefer battle training or hunting practice?" FallenLeaf gave his apprentice a tilt of his head. The tom had always been the reasonable sort, willing to give his apprentice the choice of training every other day.

The Tom shifted his weigh, looking into his mentors eyes. "Lets do some hunting techniques perhaps?" He asked, tilting his head. He wouldn't mind running through all the techniques again. It would refresh his mind for when his assessment came. He had seen apprentices do assessments before- they usually did a little bit of hunting and combat. He was confident enough for his assessment, but he knew when the day came he would worry.
