@Pear
If you look at the first link you can see that the dragon in the bottom corner has really round wings as if the joint was non existent. Wings are a lot like human arms. The other one looks good though. The second link I love the angle you use to draw. Not very often you see something like that. I also love how you did the wings!

@Nix
Some one said this before, but add a trail of where she was dragged? I would love to give you more he but I can't draw humans that well without a ref picture myself.

@Rune
Love the picture so far, but in feel like the hair is a little much? It looks like it's going out a little to far because he head doesn't look that big. Also he hand looks a little small for hrs.but as I told nix I can't draw humans hat well unless I have a ref..

Well I have started on a nightwing drawing maybe a month ago? I am wanting work on it again but I was hoping I could get someone else thoughts and maybe a redline? And I am aware that the arms look horrible..and if someone could help with drawing the face? Not sure if the he mask would be in the right spot or not..

guys- I need an opinion- I have a character ( I drew it on paper but I feel lazy right now so I won't upload it )

I'm not all to sure what you mean, so she's kind of like a Satyr? I can't really give any help unless I've seen it

    Remember that sketch I showed you all a little while ago? Well, I've started to colour it and have decided to use a lineless. I've just run into a problem though I'm not entirely sure what it is. Anjay just doesn't look quite right no matter what I do (the girl being pulled toward the water). Any suggestions or ideas? Something just isn't right....

I agree with many of the other suggestions you've had so far, but I believe you should have some sand trails from where she's been digging her feet into the sand to get grip, and personally I think she looks a little to calm for someone who's being dragged into the water

----------

Okay well! I've started drawing a picture for Halloween [which is strange because no one here celebrates it] and I wanted to know if you guys had any advice for me?

I would say either colour everything or nothing. The white face makes it look unfinished. The tongue is a bit sharp, too.

Well, if they are mixed animal, then you should decide exactly what they look like, for example, is Lyra a lamb with a. Lions mane and golden fur, or a lion with curly white fur and horns?

Could I have a bit of help with my drawing? Red lines appreciated!
Sorry about the bad picture quality, I'm on my iPad.

His wings are too small. He wouldn't be able to get enough lift to fly. His legs are also too short, and his rear too small! Eyes too far apart, and also are a bit big.

I'd like some critique on my anatomy (yeah I know the eye is large but it's kinda my style) and perhaps a redline?

The body is too short, and the head too big! Also, the eye should be placed a bit higher on the head.

Pear wrote:Could I get some quick tips for these real fast? The first two are sketches on watercolor paper, so as soon as everything's good I'm going to completely erase it and paint it. The last one is a piece of sea glass that I drew this morning without referencing any of my actual sea glass.
This one is a dragon thing.
This one is another dragon thing, but it's a leg-less breed.

Wings work kind of like human arms! Also, feathers vary in size and number across the wing. Feathers at the bottom are bigger, while the feathers further up are smaller, and there's more of them.

good evening! i believe this is my first time posting here :-0

@crystal gryphon those are really cute ! i especially like the top one, the expression that you gave the character is very fun and lively. i cant see what i could critique for those two, they look great! maybe work on backgrounds a bit more, as they look very detached from the characters/art themselves (if that makes sense) ...?
i cant do any redlines atm either, sorry ..

i did this yesterday night and i really like how it came out, and i was wondering if i could get some opinions ?

@Stonefly
The mask looks a little narrow. In your ref it just barely touches the outline of the face. And congratulations, you get my first ever redline! Please take it with several (dozen) grains of salt since I am still just learning how to draw muscles myself.

Image

@Crystal Gryphon
Your art is way beyond my skill level, so I can't fairly critique it. All I can say is that it looks amazing.

@hazama
Wow, that looks great! The angular style is throwing me off a bit, but I think that cheek bone might be sticking out a little bit much. The hair on that side is also a little short, it doesn't leave room for the head to curve. Either that or you could start the curve lower, like right at the point of his eyebrow.

@ToxicLama
I've been trying to draw dragons myself with minimal luck. All I can suggest is searching Google or DeviantArt for references and tutorials.

You guys have no idea how excited I am to be sharing this. I'm amazed I actually made it, even if it isn't quite right yet. So if anyone remembers, awhile back I shared this guy:

Thumbnail version for your convenience.

I finally got around to working on him again, and with piles of references and hours of tweaking, this is the result:
Image

I know his left arm/hand is still a little wonky so I'd still very much welcome redlines. It is turned wrong at the shoulder and/or wrist for the position he's in and I don't know how to get the right angle, but I can tell it shouldn't be jutting out of his chest like that. Anyone is welcome to redline in fingers too if they're feeling super brave, but I don't expect it. No one likes drawing those.

Been a long time since I've hung out with the art geeks.

I can recommend tons of books for you to study. Basics for dragons is really studying cats, birds, and lizards. The body of most dragons is very cat-like while the claws can be any sort of design you'd like. You may study artwork by artists such as DemonML and neondragon or surf through deviantart and other art community sites for groups that host nothing but dragon related artwork. Deviantart also makes searching for references and tutorials easy by providing the Resources & Stock Images search. Searching for dragons in the resources I found this tutorial as well as tons of others.

The first one has fantastic shading on the character, but the tree appears very flat in comparison. Some of the leaves also appear to have some very rough edges. I won't be providing any redlines for anyone for a while. Your work is well done. Keep at it. Gonna be stalking here a bit to see some more.

The second has a great, dark atmosphere. I think the foreground shadows could use a harder edge, though.
The neck also seems a bit thin, but perhaps it's just me or there's something there throwing me off. I'm not sure.

Great line work. Good luck.

crystal griffin;; I wish I could help, but it's fantastic! perhaps play with the lighting a bit more on the bottom one?
Hazama;; very cute! perhaps make the hair more detailed with highlights and lowlights?
Ciriun;; wow! That is some stunning art! I wish I could redline, but I'm probably not much better off than yourself. the tail looks a bit thin though, however that could just be me.

and I'd like a redline on the backleg of this guy. he is falling and I have no idea how to draw that
