A Cottonwood Thanksgiving

Postby sapphirespirit » Sat Nov 08, 2014 11:48 am

Hello All! There are far too few Thanksgiving things out there- and I've an Idea approved by Teresa.
There have been a lot of greedy comments thrown around lately, and I feel like Cottonwood is being taken for granted- the adopts, gifts, customs, Artists, staff, everything.

We also haven't had any newcomers to Cottonwood, and I feel as though some fresh faces will lighten things up a bit, as well. So, here is my solution.

There will be randomly premade horses to be gifted out. Here's the catch-
You must post a form(below) telling us something you are thankful for (In general, it doesn't have to be about CW- and there will be NO heckling or hassling about what a person is thankful for! I won't tolerate fighting!) , and TWO people you want to gift a horse to. Now, these two people are to be as follows: One can be someone you know, you must tell us why you are gifting this to said person. Why you think they deserve a gift.
The other MUST be a stranger! someone who isn't in the CW community (or has very little CW horses) and someone you don't know! This is lending out a friendly hand to the CS community, opening our arms for new arrivals. (Please note: This will not be considered their first custom. They will still be able to, when the time is appropriate, to order their first custom free. These are gifts!)

Everyone can take place in this- Anyone who wants to! But there will be no whining, no jealousy, no "Lucky! I wanna steal it/a breeding" or anything of the sort. There will be some sort of consequence for this, because its just rude. By all means you can comment how beautiful a horse is- Compliments are always welcome. But I'm real tired of all the "Gimme, gimme gimme! Want Want Want!" stuff.

Now, artists, if you would like to Help me out with this- please PM me, and I will add you. These will need to be covered until the reveal date- so you can make your own cover if you wish, or use the (horribly) premade one. You may do edits/trinkets/tack if you wish- keep in mind these are randomly made, for random people. Sort of like a raffle.
Also, they do not have to have a Thanksgiving Theme if you do not wish it so - its all up to you as the artist what you make.

That being said:
Happy Early Thanksgiving , Guys!
Happy Posting!
Do not erase anything in the form. adding is fine- prettying, editing, whatever. It won't help, or hurt you either way.

What Are you Thankful for?: I'm thankful for a lot of things to be honest. Firstly, I'm thankful for my best friend. She's been with me from the day we were both born (interesting fact were five days apart me being the oldest by those few days) into the world and has kept by my side on the worst of my days. I've had it rough with school with two of our close friends turning against me to hang out with the 'better' crowd but my best friend never turned against me. She stayed by my side and pulled me along with her when I wanted to curl up alone in a corner, read, and eat my lunch alone during our free hour. She is the reason that I keep going due to my so called friends choosing the 'better' crowd over the most truthful and trustworthy friend they could ever have. Sure her and I have fought over stupid things before which we look back at and laugh about because it was too stupid. She knows me like I know her, inside and out. That girl has been with me for the longest time and I appreciate every moment I get to spend with the girl I call my best friend. Sure were opposites: I'm the little quiet one while she's bold and loud, me the nerd and her the popular one, me with a very small group of close friends and her the one who knows the whole school, and me the one with the college plans and such while she's the one who wants to let loose and not worry yet. Even though were opposites I still love her like a sister. I've never met someone as caring towards me like she is. I just have two words for it and those are, I'm grateful.

Secondly, I'm thankful for my marching band family, specifically my favorite guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, and bass drum players. You know those two upperclassmen and their two younger sisters changed my life. They're my extra family and they keep me going as well. They're by my side and they hold me close and keep my head up high when I just want to hang it down. They bring me laughter and joy after school when I've had a terrible day. If it wasn't for them after school and on football games when we preform I'd have no fun after school. I grew up as an only child and quite lonely but those four girls make it up. Those girls are like sisters to me. We laugh, we cry, we fight, we joke, we play, we dance, and we love each other for ourselves.

Thirdly, I'm thankful for CWHR. You guys have the best friendly community I've ever seen involving adoptables and I love how you all are all so kind and helpful towards me and everyone else. You guys honestly are just the best.

Fourthly, I'm thankful for my mom, dad, and grandmother. Those three adults in my life are the ones who keep me alive by giving me a home, love, help with school work, food, and happiness. Those three people shower me with compliments that are truthful when I am filled with compliments that aren't true. My mother is my best adult friend. My father is my guardian and like a big brother. My grandmother is that joking friend everyone wants to have. All I have to say is that I love them and they're the best family a girl could ever have.

Lastly, I'm thankful for my pets and most importantly my 7-year-old Labrador. He's been with me for those seven years and I've been through some tough times with him. He's my everything and he keeps me safe. He's foolish at times but all he is, is a big pup full of love. He's my boy and I'm proud to call him mine.
Who, that you know, are you gifting a Horse to?: Sapphirespirit
Why? I want to gift sapphirespirit one because she's such a kind person. She's made a lot of my customs and has put so much hard work into each one. She's a great person to talk too as well and is always kind with everything. I'm glad she's an artist at CWHR. She's an outstanding person.
Who , that is a stranger to you, Are you gifting a Horse to?: Claws
Why? I've seen them around CWHR a few days ago and I saw they took in their first custom and I'd love for them to have more horse to take in. Though I've never met them before they seem like a sweet person and I'd love for them to have a chance at taking in another horse to be their custom's companion

What Are you Thankful for?: I know family is the most obvious thing to choose but I'm really thankful for my family. I've never had a "normal" childhood or any real friends because I would move a lot and I would never be in one place for more than a few months to a year at the most. 2013 was a really tough year for me...I moved to 4 different houses in less than 3 months, I lost contact with the man I called my father and that not only affected me personally but it affected my grades in school, my social life, and my motivation. Without my family I'm not sure I would even be here honestly, my family (especially my mom) are the greatest people that I have ever or will ever meet and I owe them so much more than I could hope to give back. I'm also thankful for the people on CS that I talk to because even if I don't know them personally or in real life I still enjoy getting to know them and sharing laughs. I get so excited when I see a stream posted because I know I'll get to talk with my friends and just get away from real life while getting to watch them draw amazing things and learn ways to improve my own drawing. I'm thankful for all the adtists of CWHR because without you guys I don't think I'd even be on CS anymore. I wake up and look foward to seeing what new pieces of perfection you guys have made and I know sometimes you don't get the credit you deserve but honestly everyone owes you their respect and gratitude an a great big thank you is all I can offer but just know that everyone is proud of what you guys do here and I hope you grace us with your presence for many many more years to come.
Who, that you know, are you gifting a Horse to?: dreamwalker
Why? She's made me smile and laugh more times than I can count and she's one of the people on CS I cn actually call my friend. She's been the one that will do somethings nice for you just out of the blue or make you a special adopt or tell you something nice to make you smile. You can tell she loves making adopts for everyone else and this is just my thank you to her from the bottom of my heart.
Who , that is a stranger to you, Are you gifting a Horse to?: New Nimrod97
Why? Well I see her around and about in a different adoptable that I'm apart of but to be honest I don't really know him/her. She doesn't get much respect as a mod for the species so this is my thank you to him/her for doing so much to make everyone else happy.

Im grateful for my ability to draw, and the fact that my imagination is as great as the blu whale. Im happy where I am, who Im with, and why Im living.
Who, that you know, are you gifting a Horse to?: { h o r s e }
Why? I never thought she would have much in common with me, not staling her or anything XD, Im trying to get to now her better by messaging her the weirdest things ever, like how she is my Purple Glittery Candycorning Palm Tree. Why not give her a gift despite all the stupid bullies out there <3
Who , that is a stranger to you, Are you gifting a Horse to?: Inky.
Why? I feel like we had a misunderstanding in the past and I want to apologize for my behavior. She has come so far and deserves this <3

What Are you Thankful for?: What am I thankful for? That is quite the question; there are so many things in life that I am thankful for. I am thankful for my family: my mom, dad, brother, two cats, and my dog. They have always been there for me, even when I am not so easy to get along with. Sometimes it is hard to realize that they live their own lives, and that they might be having a bad day and not want to put up with any troubles I come home with. I appreciate that they support me in everything that I do, and that they are completely understanding. I am grateful that they push me to become the best person that I can be. I am thankful they work hard and appreciate the things they do. I am thankful that they are such positive role models in my life and they help guide me. I am thankful for their mere presence, I do not know what I would do without them. They help me learn and grow. Not to mention I am so proud of them, and where they are in life. They have accomplished so much, and I am thankful that they choose to be in my life. I am thankful for my coaches and teammates. This might come across as a little bit weird, but I am. My coach has made such an impact in my life. He can be seen as a little crazy, a little anal, a little mean, a little overwhelming, but I wouldn't have it any other way. He is a division one coach that for some reason decided to coach at a high school level. He coached a gold medalist in the Olympics, it's crazy! He spends so much time with us, preparing us, working with us; I couldn't ask for more. He makes everything possible! The things he preaches crosses not just into our running, but into our character. He has turned lives around. He is such a positive influence in my life, I am so, so grateful that I happened to stumble into him and his little program. I am thankful for my teachers, for spending time with us and setting us up for a bright future. I appreciate the hard work they put in to shape us and make us into responsible adults. I appreciate my team. They are my friends, my family. We all endure the same mental and physical pain, it reaches a point where everyone is just like "why not be friends?" and there we go. It doesn't matter what differences we have, we are equals. There is no judgement. We're all on the same level, it doesn't matter if you're fast or slow, you just are. Your presence allows you to be accepted, it is wonderful. I am thankful for my friends, who have stood by me through thick and thin, who call and text to make sure I'm ok if I'm sick. They've accepted that I'm not perfect, that I'm directionally challenged and stubborn. I am so thankful that they are there, that I can have faith in them and that they will be there if I ever need them. I am grateful that I can say the same to them. I am thankful for Chickensmoothie for being a fun little outlet in my life where I''m not super pressured or super stressed. I am glad that it is one solid thing that has been there, friendly and welcoming users included. It has helped me grow in my art skills in ways I haven't experienced anywhere else. I am so thankful for the users that always welcome me back with open arms and open hearts, letting me right in without questions or hesitation. I am grateful for CWHR for being the lovely community it is. I am thankful for the soldiers in the army, and I know that none of this would be possible for me without them. They keep the entire country safe and risk their lives, something I cannot just look over or quickly move past, just so that we can sleep soundly at night. I am thankful I have a roof over my head and food on the table. I am thankful for all the little things in life, for all the experiences I have been able to enjoy. I am grateful for all the books I have read, giving me knowledge from experiences I have not lived. I am grateful for my cousins for being my best friends and for willing to be crazy with me through all of our little moments. I am thankful for my own life, for being able to live each day and to be able to experience what life has to offer.
Who, that you know, are you gifting a Horse to?: SerenWish
Why? Seren is such a great person. She is a shoulder to lean on and to cry on. She is there whenever you need her, regardless of time or her own situation. She is one of the most selfless people I have ever met. She is always the first to volunteer for things, and her attitude is viral. It spreads from person to person like a wildfire and she just brightens the room. She is always so positive and can always find a good trait on somebody. She is such a motivational role figure, it is amazing. I look up to her, and I know so many others do too. How could you not? She is kind and responsible, always getting things done on time and somehow remembers everything! She is one of the artist at CWHR, and I have not seen one person disappointed with the effort she puts in and the horses she creates. Also, she was one of the first people to welcome me into the CWHR community. She has such great enthusiasm, her presence is not overlooked. She truly deserves a little gift of appreciation. c:
Who , that is a stranger to you, Are you gifting a Horse to?: D r e a m
Why? I've seen them around the forum here and there, but never really stopped to talk to them. They seem to come across as friendly and hard-working, so I feel that they deserve it. I feel they are one of the lesser-known users on CS that deserve some recognition for their efforts.

What Are you Thankful for?: I'm thankful for my friends the most. I always feel like I can talk to them and know that they'll be there. They are my secret-keepers and gossip group. We laugh about the same things and know how each other feel. We're there or one another.

I'm also thankful for horses <3. My horse may not talk, but he's always there when I want a fluffy hug or a time to collect my thoughts. I am so happy to have such a beautiful beast.
Who, that you know, are you gifting a Horse to?: all patched up
Why? Patchy is so sweet! I just love her. I missed her so much when she went on a hiatus of sorts. Then she came back, and I was very excited! We had had a breeding set up for a while, and she recently did it. It was beautiful. I think she is such an amazing artist, like everyone at CWHR. I love all of her horses. Not only that, but she is just so sweet and friendly. I always like talking to her and see what she's up to.
Who , that is a stranger to you, Are you gifting a Horse to?: seallion2000
Why? I am having an art competition, and seallion2000 entered a couple times. I was very appreciative of them doing so. They seemed like they liked horses. I would love for them to get involved here and see them around. They were very kind to me. I think they would enjoy a horse.

What Are you Thankful for?: I have so much to be thankful for... But honestly, I'm really thankful for the Cottonwood community. I have only been here for a couple months, and I can't join the fanclub or anything because I'm Coppa'd, but all of the staff here is so nice and forgiving when I make mistakes. It's what makes me want to come back here everyday.

What Are you Thankful for?: I'm thankful for so many things in life. Most of all I'm thankful for my family. Everyone of them. My mom, dad, sister, brother, as well as my extended family. Ever since I was born, they are always there for me. I don't know where I'd be without them. I am also thankful for my beautiful pets. My cat, Buddy, my hamsters Eli and Jingle, and my fish Blue, Spike, and Nemo. I'm also thankful for good health, food on the table, a roof over my head, and my friends. I'm thankful for my education and my best friend. I'm also thankful that our family friend's son is recovering well from a major surgery from his cancer.
Who, that you know, are you gifting a Horse to?: I will be gifting a horse to Teresa.
Why? Teresa is always so kind, generous, and understanding. She is also an amazing artist. She is always kind to me and understanding about the many troubles of being a coppa player. She has also started Cottonwood, which has inspired me to start riding. She is such a sweet person.
Who , that is a stranger to you, Are you gifting a Horse to?: I will be gifting a horse to ~Eevee Art~
Why? When I was new to Chicken Smoothie I had a "make me an adoptable" contest. You could just tell by the background that I was new to CS and the oekaki. She/he (not sure since I didn't get to know them) tried out twice. I actually chose their art but it didn't work out. She is a coppa player too and seems very nice. I can tell she likes art and animals so I'm hoping to introduce her to Cottonwood.
