Jessica opened a door leading into a dark, musty room that was once a retail store. Clothes were scattered across the floor, torn and unusable. She slowly walked down the aisles, a hand on her dagger, looking for anything that might help her. Even a sock would do! She stopped and gazed at the shelves. One of the larger ones had fallen over and was now resting against another, creating a sort of tent. Maybe if I push the shelves against the wall... She thought. It would give her a nice sturdy piece of shelter.

Jessica took off her sword and placed it on the ground next to her. She placed her hands on the side on the shelf and spread her feet apart. She gave a large huff and tried to push the shelf - but it wouldn't budge. After several attempts, it finally moved. But once it started moving, the shelf over gave a tremendous creak and fell over, sending a large BOOM shooting through the air.

Britney let put a short laugh when he faceplanted and she crossed her arms over her chest as she looked down at him "Because I wanted to" She replied with a smirk "Now why dont you tell me why you followed me here?" She asked.

Bane growled and sat up, rubbing his nose. He glared at her before standing. "Why should I tell you? You probably won't even believe me." he huffed. He watched her for a moment before shoving past her into the livingroom.

"Because I deserve to know" Britney snapped back at him when he shoved past her "You stomach.into the house that I'm in after obviously following me and you insist on searching it" She added as she followed him onto the room, her arms crossed over her chest, glaring at him "Why is it so hard to answer a simple question?" She asked in a demanding tone.

"I'll see,' was all Alex said when she asked him if he was going to make her mad. It was the honest truth too. He had only just met the girl after all, and he couldn't make any guarantees. After a moment, he finally put the knife he had pulled out earlier back into his jacket. This one seemed okay. While he had been putting the knife in his jacket, he had heard her go on to talk about possibly teaming up. Mm... As nice as this girl seemed, 1.) Alex didn't know her name and 2.) he wasn't really one for teams or anything like that. He worked solo, and that was how it had been for years. He's turned down requests like this one before, but maybe it was time to try something new. It could be an experiment. If it went well, cool. If not, well, oh well.

Alex was quiet for a few moments as he considered what she said. The idea still irked him a little, but for some reason, he couldn't find the heart to turn this on down. Now if it had been the other girl asking, well pfft. He would have said no flat out, but this one? "All right. We can try it. I won't make any promises, but I'm willing to give it a try." You're growing soft, a voice in his head whispered, but he ignored it for now. Alex still wasn't giving in as easily as he may appear to be.

Her eyes brightened when he agreed to team up with her. She released the can and smiled a bit. "O-okay she beamed. She looked around and gathered a lighter and some old canned foods. It wasnt much, but she needed it. "There are some animals down to the south, ive seen them, theyre"
in their breeding season" she said buckling her bag. " Got beef?" She asked with a smirk.

Alex patted himself for a moment, as if to make sure he had everything, and listened to what she said to him as he did so. Raising his eyebrows, he replied, "Nope," when she asked if he had beef. Then he breathed in and added with an air of finality, "Well, let's try heading south then, as long as you don't mind staying here an extra day to day and a half." It was a nice place and he would have liked to have at least one more day of rest before moving on.

She smiled and nodded. "Sure, I need to tend to this anyway" she said pulling up her shirt. A small but obviously deep gash, bled a bit into her shirt. She took out so perixideeand cleaned her wound. Finding a clean bandage, she wrapped it around the wound gently. After perking it up, she managed to find a blanket and some pillows. They were a bit scorched but uusable.

One of Alex's eyebrows raised slightly as she mentioned needing to tend to something. Then it occurred to him that she was hurt, though she seemed to know what she was doing when she lifted her shirt to clean and bandage the wound. Out of old-fashioned courtesy, Alex turned away and waited til she finished. It wasn't like she was getting naked or anything, but he figured it would be a polite thing to do. Meanwhile, he headed off to go find some stuff for them. He didn't go far, but when he returned, he found that she had found some blankets and pillows, though a little old. Oh well. He's gone with worse. It would do for one night.
