Littlebrook jumped at the sound of Boarstep's voice, not having expected anyone to come up behind her. Her blue gaze watched his facial expression as he reassured Hollywhisper that she would soon be under the medicine cat's care. She nodded in agreement with the tom before getting to her paws when she noticed the looming form of a black tom. Her eyes grew worried as she looked from Pantherstar, as he took a seat outside the nursery, to the kitting queen. Even with the ruthless leader sitting a fox length away, a small almost nonexistent smile came to her face at the thought of kits and hopefully Pantherstar would not be the demon she knew he was and hurt either mother or her kits. A huff of announce left her at the thought. Who could harm such small life forms just for the sake of not wanting them to exist? She did adore kits after all and the thought sickened her.
She has always thought of having some of her own one day with a tom she loved. Love being the key word. There was none of that around here. Instead she was expected to have Boarstep's kits, a tom she knew not much about. Plus was this a place she really wanted to raise her own? To watch them grow and not be able to show them any form of affection? To watch as they got paired up with their own arranged mates? To live such a life? She would rather be exiled and chased away to just to have a sweet loving moment with a family of her own. Her eyes peered over at Boarstep. He probably wouldn't want kit's with her anyway and she defiantly knew there was no love between them. Even if the future held many possibilities.
The white she-cat came out of her thoughts as she noticed said tom making his way over and listened as he whispered to her about them leaving the nursery now. "Yes of course. Hollywhisper is about to be very busy." She purred, before catching herself and stopping almost immediately. Clearing her throat she turned away from the nursery. "I'm sure Lightningstorm will have plenty of work for everyone again today." Littlebrook shook out her pelt and fell instep beside Boarstep as they headed away from the nursery, her small form could be completely hidden by the larger tom making her eyes shine in amusement at her own puny size.

║ The muscled deputy watched as Darkstripe grouchily rose from his nest, the other's tom eyes heated with a loathsome glare. Of course, Lightningstorm did not mind the anger at all and simply sat there, stoic as he watched Darkstripe leave. Part of being a deputy meant that cats would not like him - a fact that Lightningstorm had accepted the moment Pantherstar made him deputy. Lightningstorm simply did not tolerate laziness, especially when all the other warriors were up and ready for the day. Patrols needed to be attended to; the Clan needed to be taken care of. The warriors could sleep once they finished their duties.
He sat a while in the warriors' den, thinking about nothing in particular before turning and exiting the den. Where was Troutfrost? The deputy's ear tips twitched. Troutfrost had better be awake and ready to see the day, if the tom knew what was good for him. Lightningstorm's light blue gaze surveyed the camp, and he noticed with great annoyance that nearly all the cats had gone to swarm the nursery. 'Mousebrains,' he growled in his throat. Why crowd the nursery when work needed to be done? Besides, Hollywhisper needed privacy and Daisystream at this moment - not overly nosy warriors who could be doing something better! Just as the deputy was about to pad over to the nursery and shoo the cats away, Boarstep had spoken his mind about the subject, which pleased Lightningstorm.
"Yes," he agreed with Boarstep as he approached from behind. "Leave Hollywhisper alone, the last thing she needs is for curious cats to watch her kit. Daisystream will take care of her."xxxxxBluepaw

║ Was the silence awkward? Bluepaw considered this thought as she ate away at her thrush, tearing and swallowing as she pondered. Silence, to Bluepaw, was rarely awkward. In fact, she quite enjoyed silence. At least then she could allow her mind to relax and roam free. She hated crowds; the annoying chatter of other cats often disrupted her steady train of thoughts. So, perhaps Cedarpaw wasn't too bad of a pick for Bluepaw. The gray tabby wondered if she was lucky. What if she had gotten stuck with a chipper tom? That would have been a painful situation for Bluepaw.
Her triangular ears twitched in pleasant surprise as Cedarpaw greeted her. She felt a little bad for forcing him to break the ice, but pushed the guilt aside. "Morning," she replied politely, finishing up her little thrush. 'What now?' the apprentice worried a little. She wasn't very good at socializing - what she did today, approaching Cedarpaw, was a radical thing. She side-eyed her arranged mate, taking in his pretty (and yes, pretty) brown fur and strangely attractive eyes. "I suppose Lightningstorm's got a lot of busywork for us today, huh?" she decided to say after a few moments of silence. Perhaps the deputy had even assigned her on patrol, and Troutfrost would train her later. After all, Bluepaw was an older apprentice - a near warrior. Her paws kneaded the ground with silent anticipation.

Cedarpaw took another bite of his squirrel as more silence followed his greeting to his arranged mate. He didn't mind it though. He was all silence other then those few rare moments. But sometimes he wondered if silence wouldn't follow so often if they were just regular apprentices to each other. Swallowing his last mouthful of squirrel, the tall tom licked at his brown paw before running it over his whiskers to make sure they were clean. His eyes looked up at Bluepaw as she kindly replied back to his greeting. He knew most cat's would probably smile or show some sort of emotion in return but Cedarpaw honestly didn't know what to do. So instead he sat up from his laying position and turned to face the she-cat before him more. At the mention of Lightningstorm the russet tom looked toward the nursery where the deputy stood with a few other cats. He could tell by the large tom's stance that he was most likely shooing everyone away. "I'm sure he will. He's probably had everything ready since before he woke up." He replied, blue eyes training back on the cream and gray tabby she-cat. "I wouldn't mind being put to work right now though." Everyone in the clan knew that Cedarpaw was a tom that liked to learn and work. He never passed up an opportunity to do so. He always looked forward to patrols, be it hunting or just boarder patrol. Though he felt at his best and most relaxed when doing fight training. The thought of one day being able to protect someone made him feel more useful and needed.

......tallpeak couldn't help but jump when hawkspot spoke from behind her, giving the she-cat a gentle dip of his head. he looked awake enough, and his fur smelled earthy - tallpeak suspected he'd been out in the forest, rather than oversleeping. hearing his words, the she-cat nodded with a soft smile. "that sounds lovely," she replied, "and you may do the same to me." there was only a quick moment of conversation between the two, because unlike tallpeak, hawkspot had an apprentice, which meant that he had many more things to do. she watched the spotted tom pad away and slip into the apprentices' den, searching for his apprentice.
now, tallpeak had a while to do something on her own. knowing that hollywhisper was bound to kit soon, the she-cat respected her privacy and would leave her to get through it on her own. patrols were bound to have left already, which left her with one obvious option: hunting. it was a chance for her to do good for the clan, while enhancing her skills and simply having some time to herself. with one last look towards the apprentice den, the calico she-cat slipped out of camp and into the forest.
being careful not to make too much noise on the forest floor, tallpeak padded lightly over fallen leaves and branches, tail high above the ground. her ears swivelled to catch every sound, and her yellow eyes darted over the landscape to catch every movement. after walking far away enough to not hear the sounds of the clan, tallpeak allowed herself to sigh and relax her muscles. whenever she visited the forest, she would always try to get as far as possible from the clan. it was as if she was free, like she was never a warrior cat. but as much as she dreamed about it, tallpeak knew she couldn't leave. unfortunately, it wasn't as easy as that.█

......darkstripe watched as the she-cat before him gave a bow of her head; he did not return the favour. there was no need for his assigned mate to look at him as if he were any higher than she were. maybe the bowing was not out of respect, but a simple, friendly gesture, but the black-furred tom didn't think about it any longer. roseleaf had a scrawny-looking sparrow at her paws, and a guilty expression on her face. although the kill pile was thinning down, a pitiful bird would not cost the clan anything. the she-cat deserved to eat, at least. locking his olive green eyes with hers, darkstripe saw his mate glance at his tail. the tom tried desperately to stop it, managing to bring it down to a twitch at the tip of his tail.
their conversation was very, very short-lived. it seemed both cats weren't the best at being social; something darkstripe was actually happy about. it meant that he wouldn't be forced into talking just because she was a social cat. the sleek tom let his gaze part from his arranged mate to see his apprentice, darkpaw, entering the already quite populated nursery. hearing a yowl from hollywhisper, darkstripe guessed the queen was going to kit. the thought made the fur on the back of his neck rise; someday, that would be roseleaf in there, giving birth to his own kits. there was no way of avoiding it, despite the fact that darkstripe still would. he knew that in order to keep his blood running strong in the clan, he would have to mate with a cat he didn't love. it seemed almost criminal to him. the tom shook his head of the thoughts, like shaking away a pesky fly. there would be a time to worry about that later. until his apprentice left the kitting she-cat, darkstripe would simply wait with roseleaf while she ate. the slender warrior sat down beside her, body tingling as he felt her fur brush against his own.

Mentor of Cedarpaw - No crush - B O A R S T E P - With Littlebrook - Arranged mates with Littlebrook
Cost you to keep me quiet...
Boarstep felt a twinge of disgust in his heart as he heard the deputy's voice behind him, but hid the feeling on his expression. He glanced over his shoulder at the tom, curtly dipping his head before looking back over at Littlebrook. His flicked his ears, amusement creeping up on his face at her surprise purring. He flicked the tip of his tail as the duo began to turn around to walk in the opposite direction, his pelt brushing roughly against Lightningstorm's. He glanced back at the higher-ranking tom, giving him a false apology before catching up to Littlebrook.
He grunted in agreement as she mentioned the amount of work to be assigned to the cats of Pureclan, his ears falling back slightly. Even with corruption running rampant, daily duties must be attended to. Work wasn't what bothered him, it was the force the leader and deputy brought to them. He noticed they both ruled with fear, but fears are supposed to be faced. He felt almost certain that the terrible two will be killed someday by a group of rebels against their laws, and he could only hope he'd still be alive to be on that team. Soon he glanced down at the she-cat, noticing the amusement in her eyes. As soon as he realized what she was finding so funny, he snickered softly.
The size difference was very noticeable. A large, muscular tom-cat with a petite, lovely she-cat. The diversity of physiques that could be found in a crowd of cats always interested him. Their builds, their sizes, their pelts, their eyes, their scars, everything.

Roseleaf continue to lay there as Darkstripe and her own eyes stayed locked on each other for a little while, not a single word spoken between the two. The distraction of his whipping tail gone, she was able to focus more on him. He seemed lean, handsome, with a jet black coat that fascinated her. Dark coats were common, but felt a bit rarer to have cats who's coats were of the darkest color. Eventually the eye connection broke, and with an awkward feeling in her heart, the female's focus returned to the pathetic meal at her paws. But as she overheard a shriek from the nursery, she was less than calm.
She had a feeling that'd be her someday, being the she-cat screaming for the medicine cat's help inside the nursery. Afterwards dealing with small bundles of lives and spending several moons raising them the "right" way. But hopefully that day wouldn't creep upon her too quickly, and after confirming that in her brain, she pushed the thought away. She took yet another bite of the scrawny sparrow, taking her meal in slow to savor the meal. With the size of the bird, the enjoyment of food for the day would not last. Soon, she suddenly deciding that eating it slowly would only be a waste of time, and began to eat it noticeably faster. She did her best to ignore the strange feeling she experienced as her mate's pelt brushed against hers as he sat by her side.

She turned her attention over to the nursery, right away where Darkpaw had hurried off to. "I, I don't think you should go over there." She grumbled quietly, but padded after him, stopping shortly after she got close to the nursery where few cats were. She knew that Darkpaw was indeed curious, but he had already scurried over and ito the entrance of the nursery. With a sigh, she made her way over to the edge of camp, curling herself into a tight ball underneath a shady oak tree. Her eyes gazed off to the sky with bordem, and a small pinch of annoyance everytime she listened to other cats talking to loudly, once her attention wore out from the other cats, she closed her dark brown eyes, dozing off underneath the tree.
After her short doze, she opended her eyes. Birds we're chirping loudly, and flying threw the forest. Right away, the light brown she~cat flexed her sharp whit eclaws on the ground, the stretched after. Buzzardpetal got to her paws, glanzing around the forest scenery.A burst of cold air brushed her soft silky fur. Cold seasons are coming.. She thought to herself with a quiet sigh. After standing around, doing nothing for countless seconds, she was clueless what to do. Patrols we're already sent out, and the long boring day of nothing began after her sleep. Maybe sleeping for a longer period would have been less boring then standing around camp, doing absolutely nothing. Not interacting, not that she wanted to even talk with others. A faint growl escaped her mouth, she watched atleast two pairs of cats talking, almost every cat was talking, except her. Standing around seemed to embaresse her even more, knowing the old legend Eaglestar had created, where every cat had to have an arranged mate. She hated that thought, not really even wanting a mate made her more agorvated. But the rule had to be followed, she wasn't much surprised that Pantherstar, her current leader, sitll carries on that rule. It seemd much more happier in StarClan then in PureClan. The dusky brown cat padded out into the forest, knowing that maybe if she we're to find something to hunt, maybe that would kill time so she wouldn't have to wait around, doing nothing for the rest of her day.
doing the rest when they're being talked to}}

......darkstripe watched his arranged mate calmly as she took small, slow bites of the scrawny sparrow that lay at her paws. the black tom's tail twitched with amusement as the she-cat suddenly began wolfing down the bird, as if she hadn't eaten in moons. however, the expression did not change on his face; it stayed dull and cold. darkstripe, along with every other cat in the world, had feelings, he just hardly ever showed them on his face. the tom could be feeling ecstatic, but his face would look bland. he didn't quite know why he did it; maybe showing feelings was a weakness, so he chose to be stronger.
once roseleaf had finished her poor excuse of a meal, darkstripe stood up, looking down onto his arranged mate. "i know nothing about you," he said quite bluntly, gaze resting on her pretty features. "tell me about yourself."
the slender tom was truly curious to know about roseleaf. she seemed mysterious, like himself, which always meant there was something to her past. and what was the point of being mates if they didn't know the first thing about each other? talking surely wasn't against the stupid new law? darkstripe lowered his head, realising roseleaf might see his towering stance as threatening, and waited patiently for a response.

Roseleaf finished off her meal, licking the remains off of her muzzle and whiskers. Her gaze shifted to Darkstripe as he announced little knowledge of her, then urged her to speak about herself. She winced slightly, slowly shifting her position to sit up. She hated talking- typically, she wouldn't speak more than a small sentence or two. But speaking about herself required more than that. She wraps her tail around her paws, glancing up at the sky as she thought of things to tell him. Her ears flattened down slightly as she realized that there was really nothing interesting to tell. She was a boring, average cat.
"There's nothing special about me, therefor, not much to tell." She answered him, her voice as quiet as usual. Even that sentence was a bit out of her comfort zone. She normally never spoke this much, but that might be due to the fact most cats don't urge her to talk more. Nobody was ever interested in having a long conversation with her, mainly because everyone figured she wouldn't be able to hold it up. Plus, some saw her as a bore, taking interest in more intelligent subjects. Quickly, she added on. "But if you have any specific questions, ask away."
