Stormfeather nodded with a wry smile. "That's the spirit." He ducked out quickly and came back in with a thrush and a vole, the vole for himself. "I may have to talk to Thunderstar about retiring soon, I'm getting a little old and the sight in my left eye is fading." The grey-muzzled tom mewed with a sigh.

Dawnflight padded out of camp.

"Not really, but we should gather some with leaf-bare coming," Spottedfeather meowed.

"'Suppose so," Willowpaw laughed, her voice slightly muffled by the chervil in her jaws. "Make sure you get the roots, too. They're important as well," she instructed. 'I sound like my mentor!' she thought to herself, amused. Once the chervil waa pulled out, she set them in the beech leaves that she had brought, then scented the air to look for more herbs.

However, instead of herbs, she found an evem stranger scent. "I think I smell a rogue," she said uneasily, tail flicking back and forth behind her. "Don't you smell that, too?" she asked with a glance cast towards Sunpaw.

(The rogue is Rowan.)

Sunpaw nodded as he managed the finally pull one out, he looked up as she said 'rogue'." Wait..did you just say rogue?"

"I smell one too," Spottedfeather meowed. "Why doesn't the 'muscle' go check it out?" meowed, with a hint of joke.

Willowpaw nodded, her nose wrinkling with disgust. "Yeah, that's definitely rogue. They smell just like rabbit droppings and crow-food ... hard not to recognize the scent,' she muttered, her voice low as she didn't want the rogue to hear her. What if it was hostile? She knew that many rogues were, unlike kittypets, who were generally clueless when it came to just about anything to do with living in the forest.

Goosewing nodded, taking a few small bites out of the thrush before leaning back with a satisfied sigh. He hadn't eaten anything since dawn yesterday, as he had been convincing himself that the younger cats needed the prey more than he did, despite the constant protests coming from his stomach. "'Figured that was why you've been'a visiting me," he said at last. "Well, you're going to have to get used to ol' Goosewing now, because soon enough I'll be your only denmate. The elder's den is emptier than the warrior's den, that's for sure," he said, swiping his tongue over his lips as he finished eating.

Stormfeather chuckled. "I bet it is. At least you'll have company soon." He took a few bites out of his prey. "And I won't miss being woken up by the dawn patrol every morning."

Rowan growled softly, listening for a nearby watersorce, it was easy to locate, but he couldn't help but think someone was nearby... he shook his head and slipped into what turned out to be a pond, he sighed and soaked his fur, attempting to get the rest of the scent off his pelt.

OOC: no. I don't think anything should happen in all honesty. A bit too early to drama. But maybe a later patrol could lead to that? Maybe, for now, Warren could scent the dogs, maybe that they've passed by? A bit of foreshadowing?
