This is a place where free horses roam. However there are threats, wolves, bears, mountain lions, humans, and other things. The herds in the area are pretty strong and like to stick together, other herds have heard this and want to bring their herds here. This is a threat to the males because of the beautiful mares they have collected. Is it worth living in these forests, and wide fields hidden from most people, to possible risk some mares, or is it better to just make your way to a new place?
