I have a question for all of you In the His Dark Materials Series, Phillip Pullman states that everyone with a settled dog daemon is in some kind of servant position. Do any of you have dog daemons? Do you believe yourselves to be servant-like in some regard? Do you buy into this and believe that dog demons are associated with people that serve others, or do you feel that anyone can have a dog demon and it doesn't mean they have to be a servant?


Also another question. Daemons are the opposite gender of yourself. It was alluded to in the book that people who are homosexual have daemons that are the same gender as themselves. Are any of you homo/pansexual or generfluid/agender or any of those other things? What gender is your daemon? I'm really curious to know if anyone has daemons that are not the typical opposite gender

For your firsk question: no, I don't believe that people with dog daemons are subservient. I think that they're more comfortable when there is a more or less defined hierachy and some rules/guidelines to follow, but to say that all of them would enjoy being servants is imo unaccurate. You also have to remember that there are a lot of different dog breeds, some of which work best alone.

For your second question: I'm a pansexual female and my daemon is a male. I don't think the gender of the daemon has anything to do with sexual orientation. I have however noticed that genderqueer people are more likely to have daemons of the same gender as their sex. That might just be me seeing what I want to see, though ^^'

Gender and sex of your daemon is up to personal preference. Book lore about opposite sex daemons isn't always true. I've always seen Cyrus as male, though I'm bigender (female sexed) asexual. There are some daemians with nonbinary or agender daemons.

Whatever you feel comfortable with, go for it.

I'm pansexual and my dæ is the opposite gender to me (with myself being a female and Camaryllin a male)
But I don't really think sexuality has anything to do with it rather what the individual feels comfortable with <333

That's my dæmon Dael. We're unsettled, though black racer snakes seem to fit pretty well. I usually project Dael as a wolf, house cat, or western giant cave gecko. I'm new to this whole thing (Cie day of october 14th, so really new xD) and....yeah, think that's about it.
Oh, and I'm also a therian, so if you go by the Otherkin Thread you'll see me trying to not be a doof.

Welcome, Aisling and Dael! I'm Verdande and my daemon is Erastos (Tos for short), and as you can see by my sig (totally not overdoing the dae thing xD) he takes the form of a binturong. We're both pretty sure that he's settled but then again, you never know! I hope you're gonna have a grand time hele in our li'l old club! ;D

Hi, guys! It's Suchgo, but you can call me Palafox, and I've finally gotten things to do with my daemon worked out, and I'd like to introduce them! My daemon's name is Younettroi(yoo-Neh-troy), You(I only call them that when we're alone, as it tends to be awkward in front of others) or Nettie, they are a genderless stable fawn mudi. I've done reserch and gotten form analyses on TDF, and the personality of the Mudi fits me really well! c: I need to practice protecting them more though. o^w^o

Hello, new people!! I'm Minty, and my daemon is Muri. He's unsettled/stable, mostly in his red fox form, though he will practice other forms (mainly rodent, sometimes feline)

I remembered this a week ago, but forgot on the actual day. Muri's CIE day was on the 31st! We can't remember when I actually began with daemons, but I know it was around the end of October. Halloween's a good day to have it on. c:

All the time! Even when he's a spider or a snail or something that doesn't have a noticeable mouth, I can still see it 'move'! By god, he never shuts up! XD But to be fair, it's very rare that I take those forms. The binturong is most comfy right now and luckily seems easy to project.
