Loonpaw yawned quietly, her bright blue eyes shimmered in the morning light. Slowly, the she~cat lifted her herself to the ground. Her eyes we're drousy and tired, with no hesitation, she slowly made her way out of the den, every few moments a drip of water would tumble down. Dew rest everywhere, and the green blades of grass we're swaying silently in the wind. After few countles seconds, she made her way over to the fresh-kill. It smelled like delicious prey. Loonpaw pawed down a wagtail, and started to feast into her breakfast. Once she finished, she licked his whiskers, then got to her paws. The day had started, but that ment a very, indeed boring day of nothingness.

Buzzardpetal's eyes shot open, noticing it was morning, and she was still laying in her warm moss bed. Morning? already. she thought to herself with a shudder. Her dark gloomy caramel eyes looked from left to right before she got to her paws, padding out of the warriors' den. "Greetings, young Darkpaw." She said calmly, but a bit of an annoyed expresshion on her plain face."How are you?" She asked quietly, curling her tail around her paws, then lifted the other to clean.

autumnmist was greeted by a younger warrior, littlebrook, whom she was well familiar. for some reason... autumnmist felt annoyed by the greeting, and her pelt fluffed. "hello." she snapped shortly. "I'm fine." anger, hot and burning and fierce, boiled and grew within her. why? she didn't know. for some reason, autumnmist didn't like littlebrook right now. this was strange, however; the two had shared the warrior's den for quite some time now and were, usually, friends. autumnmist cooled down rather quickly. she was serene now and calmed from her strange flash of hatred. "I'm sorry..." she managed. something in her eyes changed then, from terrible balls of fire to gentle pools of yellow and rust. "I'm wonderful this morning, thank you, littlebrook..." autumnmist felt awkward and looked towards the exit of the camp, avoiding all eye contact with the white and grey she-cat. however, the awkwardness was interrupted by a shriek that rang out near her. autumnmist jumped in surprise and looked towards the nursery. "hollywhisper?"

darkpaw looked at the buzzardpetal and offered her a lazy grin. "hey buzzardpetal. I'm doing great! how are y-" he was interrupted by a long, drawn out yowl that sounded as though some cat was being tortured. his dark eyes widened, and he glanced up at buzzardpetal. "what... was that...?" a shudder, a cold and tense shudder, went up the black tom's spine. he immediately thought of hollywhisper... could it have been?

Mentor of Cedarpaw - No crush - B O A R S T E P - Open for interaction - Arranged mates with Littlebrook

Cost you to keep me quiet...

Boarstep, rebelliously kept still in his nest, his ears pinned and his nose wrinkled slightly. He did not look happy; not even a little. He had stories of what true love felt like from his mother however many moons ago; the fluttering of your heart, the heating of your skin. Now, that feeling was forbidden, but Snowbelly told him that love was something that came naturally. Not even a strict, powerful leader like Pantherstar could change something natural. Not like Littlebrook was a bad cat, honestly, the few times he talked to her he saw her as a pretty cool cat.

The stupid law was what forced his beloved mother away from him, and he remembered that dreaded day as clear as ever. He was young, innocent, and shrieked out for her mother as cats chased her away. He especially remembered the dramatic moment when she gave him her final look. A soft smile, but sorrow filled in her bright turquoise eyes. His life from there was notably lonely, and oh, how he wished to stand for what Snowbelly believed in, but in his own protest. Actually experiencing this "love" emotion, and expressing it in front of the public. How pleasurably scandalous it would be!

He was snapped out of his mental scheming and brooding when a pained sound came out from camp. It sounded feminine, small; it certainly didn't sound like someone had a wound. His mind was almost promising him that it came from poor Hollywhisper, the unfortunate mate of the source of all this clan's evil. His claws unsheathed at the very thought of the idiotic dark tom who dared to call himself their leader. But the noise of the kitting queen motivated him to stand, exiting the depths of the warriors den and into the open air, his gaze immediately darting to the nursery.

He was balancing two ideas in his mind; helping the poor cat to the medicine den, or leaving that up to another cat. But instead he compromised, darting into the medicine den where Daisystream was. "Hey, Daisystream, something urgent is going on! I think Hollywhisper's kitting." He spoke hurriedly, determined to get the distressed queen help as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Not nursing any kits - No crush - R O S E L E A F - Open for interaction - Arranged mates with Darkstripe

Just keep following the heartlines on your hands!

Roseleaf's lovely, distinct pale green eyes opened, immediately greeted but the dull light of the morning. Gathering all the motivation and energy within her, she lifted herself to her paws, shaking the bits of her nest that clung to her pelt off. She quickly got to her usual morning ritual; giving her pelt a quick but thorough grooming, stretching out her stiff muscles, and topping it all off with a yawn. After that, she forced herself to walk out of the den, greeted by the chilly air of the morning and the moistness of the dewed ground. Her somewhat famed eyes swept along the crowd of her clanmates, examining each one as they conversed with their clanmates. Yet, she couldn't see Darkstripe in sight. A shame, really; she really wanted to get to know him.

Getting to know your mate isn't considered "romantic", right? It was just striking up a conversation with the cat you're probably going to end up having kits with. Which sounded exciting at first to Roseleaf, but then came to a realization she could show no affection to her kits. I bet a lot of the females in the clan felt the same as she did; if she had kits, she'd run for dear life, find a new life, maybe even fall in love. But of course, those could only be considered fantasies in her mind. Heartwarming fantasies that only disappointed you in the end. She learned this lesson many times in her short twenty-nine moons of life.

The best advice she had ever gotten was certainly a clićhe one, but at times it felt useful to her. Just follow your heart. She has betrayed that for a long time, and has lived a few moons of her life torn between two opinions. The arranged mating was good, and it was bad.

xxxno crush.
xxxtags; buzzardpetal, darkpaw, darkstripe, any sleeping
xxxwarriors.
xxxooc; i'm going to assume it's nearing leafbare; forgive
xxxme if it's not.

As per usual, Lightningstorm was awake before the rest of his Clanmates. When the sun hadn't even peeked over the distant mountains, the stoic deputy had already slipped out of the warriors' den and padded out into the cold clearing. The frosty breeze ruffled his short fur and he shivered slightly, but shrugged it off. Leafbare was fast approaching; the cold was simply a sign of it. Lightningstorm's tail tip twitched at the prospect of leafbare. Of course, leafbare always brought sickness and death with it, but the tom was sure that the pureclan cats could pull through. After all, his warriors had one thing that other clans lacked - strength. Other clan cats were tied down by mates and love while the pureclan cats have learned to let go of all their worldly attachments. Lightningstorm sat at the edge of camp, observing the serene stillness of the morning. He laid down on his belly, head raised high and ears erect as he studied his surroundings.

Before long, the sun had begun to rise past the distant mountains and Lightningstorm took that as a signal to get to work. Standing to his wide paws, Lightningstorm shook out his short pelt and began to pad to the center of camp. Cats had already roused and began to socialize with one another, much to Lightningstorm's pleasant surprise. The deputy was perhaps most infamous for rudely awakening his warriors if they failed to rise, stomping noisily into the warriors' den and loudly ordering them awake. Today, it seemed as if that wasn't needed. He spotted Littlebrook and Autumnmist talking to one another, though the tortoiseshell did seem a bit cranky. Looking past the two she-cats, he noticed Buzzardpetal approaching Darkpaw near the entrance of the warriors' den. Buzzardpetal was his arranged mate, despite the she-cat's older age. Lightningstorm's nose wrinkled in distaste. Buzzardpetal was many moons older than himself; he did not particularly want the brown she-cat as a partner because whatever kits they had would be born to a mother who would soon join the elders' den. But he knew he could do nothing to change it.

Tail lashing side to side, Lightningstorm approached Buzzardpetal and Darkpaw. "I want you two on border patrol," he mewed, tone steely and commanding. He turned to Darkpaw in particular and studied the apprentice. Darkpaw was ten moons old - just two moons away of his warrior ceremony. Lightningstorm wanted to make sure that the tom had all the necessary skills in order to pass the exam. His ears flicked in annoyance. "Where is Darkstripe?" he asked, blue eyes glaring at nothing in particular. 'That lazy flea-bag,' he growled to himself. Shaking his head, he turned away to head towards the warriors' den.

The deputy padded into the warriors' den and glared around, noticing some sleeping piles of fur still. 'Ridiculous,' he thought to himself, lips curling in a sneer. He would not tolerate lazy warriors. "Rise," he growled loudly to the remaining sleeping warriors. "Today is a good day to hunt before the prey runs thin." His ears swiveled as he heard Hollywhisper yowling from the nursery, but he dismissed her. Some cat was going to get Daisystream, and then Hollywhisper would be taken care of from there.

xxxxxBluepaw
─────────────────────

xxxis feeling neutral at camp.
xxxan apprentice of pureclan and mentor is troustfrost.
xxxarranged mate is cedarpaw.
xxxno crush.
xxxtags; cedarpaw.
xxxooc; --

Cuddled safely in her nest, Bluepaw's ears flicked as the sound of her rousing Clanmates disrupted her rather bland dream. Bluepaw watched with her dark blue eyes as the apprentices began to climb out of their nests and the den, but she did not feel inclined to follow. By the sounds of the quietness, Bluepaw assumed that the strict deputy, Lightningstorm, was not yet awake. If he was, then Bluepaw would've heard his obnoxious noise in the warriors' den, calling the others awake. She could use a few more minutes of sleep. Bluepaw curled tighter into a ball, licking her paw for a while before relaxing. The cold air bothered her so, but she had wisely situated herself at the back of the apprentices' den - her rightful place, as she is an older apprentice. The newer apprentices tended to sleep at the front.

Eventually, however, Bluepaw knew that she had to rise. Sighing inwardly to herself, the gray-and-cream tabby stood to her paws and began to groom herself. Her bones ached from sleeping in such a tight ball, but she ignored the soreness as she forced tufts of her thick fur down against her pelt. Once she deemed herself presentable, the lone apprentice padded towards the entrance of the den and ducked out into camp. Immediately, the cold air hit her right in the gut, and Bluepaw shivered. The warmth of the apprentices' den called to her, and she nearly turned back, but she noted the tall deputy slinking into the warriors' den and knew that sleep would have to wait for later. Unless she wanted her ears to be torn off. Bluepaw swept her blue gaze over camp, noticing cats talking to one another. She even noticed the bloodthirsty leader, Pantherstar, standing outside his den. Bluepaw turned her gaze away from Pantherstar, fearing that her hatred for the leader would become apparent in her intense stare.

Her belly growled and called for food, and so Bluepaw obeyed. She turned towards the fresh-kill pile, noticing how low the pile was. Lightningstorm would most surely send out a hunting patrol soon. Bluepaw sniffed at the thrush laid at the top and plucked it up with her maw. The thrush was of average side and cold; it was definitely last night's catch. Bluepaw turned around and observed the camp once more. Where could she sit? Usually, the apprentice sat by herself. She was just so awkward with others and did not make many friends; she preferred her own company, usually. But her gaze landed on Cedarpaw, her arranged mate, and Bluepaw paused. Perhaps she should join the brown-furred apprentice in his meal. After all, she was expected to be his...life partner. Obviously she had to interact with him, no matter how awkward their interactions were. 'One day you'll have to bear kits for him,' a little voice reminded Bluepaw. Her whiskers twitched in annoyance, shooing the thought away, as she approached Cedarpaw.

Bluepaw nodded a greeting to her fellow apprentice, knowing fully well that Cedarpaw would most likely not reply to her. Did Cedarpaw even acknowledge her existence? Bluepaw settled down a little ways from Cedarpaw, maintaining a respectable distance from the other tom, as she began to eat the thrush.

......the she-cat had been awake for a little while now, watching from the safety of her camp, the sun rising. it was always a magnificent sight, and if tallpeak was allowed one beautiful thing in her life, it would be exactly that. soon, more cats joined her, but not for the same reason. there were things to be done, yet all tallpeak could worry about was making sure the sun rose safely. an odd habit that had been with her for moons, but a good one, at least. it meant that she was always up early, and didn't have to face the wrath of lightningstorm's rude awakenings. the fluffy she-cat nodded to herself in satisfaction of the sun, finally rising from the smooth rock she had been resting on. having no apprentice, and not being called for a patrol, the she-cat was fairly free for the morning - the perfect time to see hawkspot. the handsome tom and herself had been paired up to be mates not too long ago. while tallpeak was unsure of the whole situation, she had to admit that she was glad to be hawkspot's mate, despite knowing little to nothing about him. her soft eyes flicked across the camp, but she could not see the tom anywhere. he's probably sleeping, tallpeak decided. but he won't be for much longer. the she-cat watched as the deputy barged into the warriors' den, gruff voice calling the sleeping warriors to get up.

......darkstripe woke to the loud and obnoxious voice of the deputy. flattening his ears before even opening his eyes, the jet black warrior knew there was no point in arguing with the stoic tom. it had been done before, and the result was... messy. with a quiet groan, the sleek tom rose from his warm nest to be met with lightningstorm. he struggled to show no emotion on his face; his paws twitched as if darkstripe was about to claw the deputy across the face. luckily, the warrior managed to contain himself, pelt burning as he brushed past lightningstorm in silence.
unfortunately, the deputy had a reason to awaken him and the rest of the sleeping warriors. the sun was over the tips of the trees, and most of the clan was already out and ready for the day. darkstripe allowed himself to stretch, loosening his tight muscles. his dark green eyes scanned the camp before resting on roseleaf, his assigned mate. even thinking about it made the tom taste blood in his mouth. it was an awful thing to be introduced to the clan, worse than a wildfire. but there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. loudmouthing would only get himself killed. suppressing a sigh, darkstripe decided he'd at least get to know the she-cat he was meant to share the rest of his life with. padding swiftly over to her, darkstripe managed a tiny, half-hearted smile. "good morning," he meowed awkwardly, tail thrashing only because he was angry at himself. the tom said nothing more, knowing that whatever came out of his mouth would be a waste of his time.

Littlebrook's eyes widened at the snappy return. Her body flinching back at the red hot anger that shined in the she-cat's eyes. She knew she had done nothing wrong so why be greeted in such a way? Slowly coming back to herself she sat again as tall as her little form would let her, her own anger boiling underneath her laid back persona. She opened her mouth to reply calmly before she noticed Autumnmist seeming to calm down herself. So snapping her jaws shut she let the other she-cat apologize. "It's fine. Glad to hear it." Littlebrook replied, though her tone showed she was a little put off, and got to her paws.

Her own eyes traveled to the nursery where the loud yell of Hollywhisper came from. "Oh, are the kits coming?" She meowed out loud, though it was mostly to herself. Littlebrook truly felt bad for the older she-cat, being arranged with their ruthless leader Pantherstar. Littlebrook didn't think she would be able to do it herself and just hoped that the queen and her kits would be okay. Thinking of it she turned to the medicine cat den only to see a form standing outside it. The brown and white tabby coat of Boarstep. Knowing he was most likely getting Daisystream, the white and gray she-cat raced towards the Nursery just to check on the queen before the medicine cat got to her - just incase.

"Hollywhisper?" She asked as she stuck her head into the den to settle her eyes on the black she-cat who was obviously in pain. "They are getting Daisystream, she'll be here shortly." She meowed now back to her usual shy tone that everyone knew.

The tall apprentice was quietly watching as cats woke up around the camp. His squirrel, though not forgotten, laying in front of his paws with a few bites taken out of it. His mind drifted between thoughts before seeming to get stuck on the law of arranged mates. He didn't really know what to think of it really. His father had pushed his own ways on Cedarpaw and the young tom slightly felt like he didn't even know himself. He had been arranged with Bluepaw, his fellow den mate and the supposedly she-cat he would one day have kits with. To be honest he felt bad that the she-cat was stuck with him. Sure they were both quiet cats of the clan and maybe most cats would think that would be okay. But he didn't know what love or happiness really were. He didn't know how to be kind and gentle. He knew they weren't allowed in this clan but he was sure parents of kits and mated cats would show them in private, even though his father never did himself. So he has never seen those emotions before or even felt them himself and his father did not speak highly of it. He was raised with knowing so much negativity. Honestly he sadly probably wouldn't even know he was feeling said emotions if they did happen to grace him one day - which he highly doubted. Cedarpaw knew he appeared cold to his clan mates. He was confused and though he would never admit it; hurt. But really what was he to do? He didn't know how to be anything else then his father's copy and oh how he hated it. He was not his father and would never be. One day he hoped it would change...that he would change. But for now he was just Cedarpaw and Cedarpaw was withdrawn and emotionless. Maybe if some cats broke this arranged mating law someday, he could be someone different. How he hoped to be someone different. It would definitely be easier.

Shaking his head Cedarpaw slowly came back to himself and noticed his claws had sunken into the already dead squirrel before him. Looking around to make sure no one noticed he retracted his claws again and began to lick them clean. His morning meal was now ruined but he decided he would have to finish it anyway, so with a sigh he took another large bite. Hearing the paws of a cat coming out of the apprentices den he looked up and noticed the she-cat his thoughts rested on just a few seconds ago. He swallowed his mouthful, seeming to have a little trouble doing such a simple act. His eyes watched her as she observed the clearing herself, lingering for a second longer on Pantherstar, and then moved towards the prey pile. He could admit to himself that she was a pretty tabby and quite liked the blue of her eyes. They hadn't really talked much and most of their conversations were awkward and followed by silence. He could never figure out what to say and didn't want to say the wrong thing, so usually stuck to his silence as did she. His own blue eyes widened slightly when he noticed she was slowly making her way over to him, but seemed to keep her distance as well. Letting out a deep sigh as she greeted him with a nod and sat a few tail lengths away. Cedarpaw knew he needed to say something, anything. Clearing his throat he glanced over at the gray tabby apprentice. "Morning Bluepaw."

The camp was coming alive with the waking cats now. His yellow gaze followed his deputy as the tom woke up the remainder of the sleeping cats and organized patrols. He listened to the tom for only a moment then gave a shrug and shifted his gaze to Bluepaw in time to catch her looking away from him. His stare became more intense as he watched her head towards the fresh kill pile. He had half a mind to intercept her and bombard her with questions as to why she was staring at him, scare her a little. Internally he smirked, but externally he remained as stoic as ever. Suddenly a yowl was heard and he knew who it was from. Slowly his head turned in the direction of the sounds. His arranged mate had made the sound of pain. He had no doubt her kits were arriving. Yes, her kits. Pantherstar knew for a fact they weren't his. He wasn't happy about it either. She bad gone behind his back and got pregnant with kits from a tom who she had fallen in love with, oh and where was he? Gone. He left her with this second litter. He wondered how she felt about that, he hoped she felt miserable and heartbroken. She deserved it. He was tempted to kill the kits, if they were even born alive. He snorted softly, with his luck they would be alive and healthy. He growled as he stood and slowly prowled towards the den. He moved as if he were a real panther, ready to strike his prey. Of course, he would not be harming the kits, at least not today, but looking at them would no doubt disgust him. Still he should be there.

He knew she obviously wasn't thrilled to be his mate, but that was no excuse and it didn't make her actions any less punishable. He stopped outside of the den with a hateful look in his eyes. These kits that were not his would hopefully never grow to think of him as their father as he refused to raise them as such. He sat down waiting for Daisystream to arrive with a harsh glare on his face. He ignores all the other cats deciding that at this point they were a waste of his time as this was going on. He would address them later.

the tortoiseshell ran to the nursery in a few large strides and peeked her head in. It was hard to spot the black-furred hollywhisper at first in the darkness of the den, but, with careful examination, hollywhisper could be seen. looking around at the cats gathered, autumnmist spotted pantherstar. the dark tom was boiling over with disgust; she could see it in his eyes. while her emotions changed quite frequently for no apparent reason, her feelings about the current leader were painstakingly permanent. she absolutely loathed his existence, and would happily skin him... perhaps leave him for the crows to pick at. she knew he was not thrilled in any way about hollywhisper's soon-to-be kits... for this reason, autumnmist feared for their small and delicate lives. would he kill them? suddenly, autumnmist tensed and kept glancing anxiously at pantherstar. he was hard to read - whether or not these kits would live to see tomorrow is what autumnmist feared the most right now.

lightningstorm, honestly, did not interest darkpaw in the least. he was a brute, of sorts, a hard-headed tough guy with a military style of running things. for this reason, the two have not gotten along well in the past as they are polar opposites. darkpaw was the type of cat that lightningstorm had a great distaste for - the black apprentice was lazy and carefree, something that didn't go over well with the deputy. when lightningstorm walked away, darkpaw only looked at buzzardpetal with a look of exasperated annoyance. "that cranky fleabag can wait..." darkpaw's ears twitched towards hollywhisper. "I'm going to go to the nursery and see the kitting."

Mentor of Cedarpaw - No crush - B O A R S T E P - With Littlebrook - Arranged mates with Littlebrook

Cost you to keep me quiet...

Boarstep dipped his head to Daisystream after he alerted her of the current situation, trotting over the nursery. His eyes fell upon Littlebrook, his skin beginning to crawl with nervousness. He never really did speak with his arranged mate, mostly because she was so quiet. Most quiet cats he met would as politely as they could, shoo him away to keep from conversing. For now, he pushed that worry aside, giving the distressed cat the most reassuring smile he could muster up. "That's right, she's on her way." He spoke softly, and smoothly, in hope to calm her nerves at least a little. He couldn't imagine the fear one felt when going into labor. Of course, being a tom he didn't have to worry about. What he may have to worry about in the future is his mate kitting, that is, if they decided to have kits.

Personally, he wanted to have kits with someone he loved, and to be able to cherish and love their offspring together. But in his eyes, all he could see in Pureclan was corruption. A paranoid leader, on top of that an obnoxious deputy to boss them all around like worthless slaves. Speak of the devil, the tom thought bitterly as he noticed their leader making his way over. One could only hope he'd allow the new lives to live on despite that their father isn't... Well, him. He walked over to Littlebrook's side, speaking to her in a gentle and hushed tone. "I don't mean to sound bossy here, but why don't we give the nursery some space? We don't want to overwhelm Hollywhisper." He suggested calmly, silently hoping she didn't take his idea the wrong way.

Again, not in anyway did he want to be mates with the cat, but if he did end up having to stay with her his entire life and have kits with her, he might as well keep their relationship on a stable and tolerable level. Based on all the stories he heard of true romance, that's all a couple needed to do to stay happy together. Tolerate each other, and be careful of each other's triggers.

Not nursing any kits - No crush [yet] - R O S E L E A F - Currently with Darkstripe - Arranged mates with Darkstripe

Just keep following the heartlines on your hands!

Roseleaf's carefully watched Lightingstorm as he went around, telling cats that they were on patrols. She almost anticipating him to grouchily tell her to go on patrol, but instead, watched as he ranted at the once-resting cats in the warriors den. In her place she stood frozen, then slowly shook her head to pull herself out of the moment. She turned about, making her way towards the freshkill pile, then gazed at it while she took the time to examine it. It was low, and it was best to save the bigger pieces to the cats who would be needing it the most.

So, she decided to pluck out a thin sparrow, finding the sunniest spot she could find. She was a bit paranoid that she'd be yelled at by one of the higher ranks, but as hesitant as she was to think it, wouldn't it be their fault for not giving her orders? She was just about to bite into her meal, when she heard a voice sound out, and it sounded like it was approaching her. She shut her jaws, looking up to see the owner of this voice. She quickly came to a realization that it was her arranged mate, Darkstripe, her pelt prickling with embarrassment. Would he be one of the cats to call her good-for-nothing or lazy because she was eating?

Feeling like it would be more polite to speak to the tom while standing, the distinct-looking female rose to her paws. She respectfully bowed her head to the frightening, dark-furred cat. "Good morning." Like usual, speaking briefly. She lifted her head back up soon after completing her greeting, noticing his tail whipping furiously behind him. She didn't dare to ask what it was bothering him, but thought of the possibilities. The fact Lightningstorm woke him up and ranted at him, her speaking, the fact he was forced to be mates with her, or all of the above.

Hawkspot had been awake just before the sun peeked over the horizon, and like most mornings he had silently risen out of his nest, from a deep slumber, and carefully make his way around the nests filled with the sleeping bundles of cats, and into the slowly brightening dawn sky of the open camp. Taking in the fresh, crisp air, the spotted tom would cross the camp and slip out of camp to roam about the territory and if a piece of prey comes, the warrior would do his best to kill the morsole. This morning, however Hawkspot simply had a good morning walk. Returning to camp just in time to see Lightningstorm's tail disappear into the warrior's den, meaning he was going in to wake the warriors still in their nest. "Just in time." the warrior murmered to himself, and spotted his arranged mate, Tallpeak. Trotting over to the she-cat he dipped his head respectfully. "I know we don't know much about each other, but perhaps after I bring Jaggedpaw back from training you can ask any question you'd like." mewed the tom, before giving a slight wave of his tail he turned around and stalked off to the apprentice's den. "Jaggedpaw?" the warrior called for his apprentice.
