Lykaios kept quiet - watching Malone's movements with eyes cut of the sun. They are dark, though, clouded like amber and with his shame.
His guilt.
He knew how hard it was for her as she carefully moved towards him as well. The movement isn't seemless, it isn't simple, but it's pained and it's slow, and Lykaios wanted to remind himsef that he should not burden himself, or her, with blame. But it couldn't be helped, it could not as Malone was unable to look him in the eyes (and even if she did, he would be unable to look back as well at those eyes, raw and like pure moonglow). He understood, though. He didn't need to see her eyes - he already knew what she felt.
"Yeah," He whispered softly. "But I wonder if dogs have morals, too? I've heard... Tales." A pause as the wind nipped at his scruff. "I will die for you if I have to. Exchanging a life for another.... Heroic, so they say. I do not intend to be heroic, nor will I ever call myself one. A hero, huh?" He shut himself up, then.
Carefully, he moved around her, touched his nose softly against the fur on her flank(and he noticed how silken her fur felt compared to his - ragged and thick, clumping together unevenly). He dared not to touch her upon the throat, for it was a vital point, and his maw resting there would not do her any good. Lykaios pbserved her carefully as he pulled his head back slowly, ears pressing flat upon his head.
Would she be fine with the little contact? It may have been something small, but if he were to support her, then the action would not be a small touch, but rather him pushing against her carefully enough so that she did not fall, or stumble, over her broken paw and remaining three. He hoped for the first time that day - something that was born out of pure desire to help.
It was new. It felt... Strange, but he accepted it. He hoped. Hoped that maybe somehow they'll make it out.
'then, show me your true heart. the next action you take will be proof of your true feelings towards me.'
