I suspect that I have synesthesia
When I feel pain, depending on where and what kind of pain I associate it with different colors.
Like when I burned my hand, it was an orange pain.
I also will associate different words with different textures.
For example, the word texture. I think of it as like, smooth and bumpy, like a woven basket almost. Synesthesia is kinda soft and smooth, except for the i and the a at the end, they're kind of rough.

Texture to me feel like scales, like a snake.
I think I feel the same way about synesthesia. It is really smooth and smooth colors to me are usually dull or pastel.

Actually, I've found that I have an extremely subtle sound - colour synesthesia! I've tried to test it out before, but it has only occured twice now and I have to completely focus on the noise. I was really suprised by some of the colours!

Ah, it's so odd when that happens... I myself have several types of syn, but most of them are so subtle that I only notice them sometimes. Just wondering, if you say my username out loud, what color is it? For me, it's an orange triangle thank sort of fades to black along the edges.

My synesthesia only works with loud, overpowering sounds. My ideasthesia interferes when it comes to words. But to my ideasthesia, your username is an indigo blue. Sapphire, almost

Have you guys ever thought about life without your colours? I try to imagine how my life would be if H wasn't orange or if A wasn't red, but it's too difficult, even though I don't actually see the coloured letters. The situations that cause my syn are fairly new, so it's easy to imagine sounds without colour.

She often tells me what certain word's colors are, and has tried getting me to see them the same way, but I don't think its a trait that's learned easily, if at all.
But, I did think it was really neat to see so many people like this. ^w^
Just curious, some words people might try to color?

No, I'm afraid it's impossible to learn synesthesia. However, it's really cool that you have a sister who probably at least has a milder version of it! To me, dying is a light shade of pink, limbo is sort of clear and glossy but blue at the edges, grace is a pretty yellowy green, zucchini is a really dark color; almost black, caroling is green (I think; it's not very strong), flight is light blue, and zealous is yellow and black. I hope this helps c:
