I'm thinking about getting an opaline or a pair of kissers. What would be a good choice of gourami or cichlid for the tank?

:| How to put this nicely... None of your currect fishes(except maybe the paradise fish and gourami, which could use little more but not terrible) are in big enough tank, not to mention the barbs are schooling fish. And both opaline gourami and the kissers need more space than that, so... Also the opaline and the gold gourami are color morphs from same species of gourami, so by my logic the likehood of those two fighting(would they both be males) is pretty high.
So really I wouldn't add any single fish into that tank with the current fishes.

How ever suitable gouramis or cichlids for the tank of that size: dwarf, honey, thick-lipped, banded and pygmy gourami(and many more smaller species that I don't remember), and out of cichlids I'd look into dwarf sized cichlids like Apistogrammas and ram. :)

Actually the Angel is in a big enough tank, it is a 29 high and have been told on here that he is fine in that tank, and that i could do a pair in there if they were the only fish... now the spanner barb i can't find accurate stocking, but i have read that as they get bigger they become solitary fish, I just cant find anything about them stocking-wise or compatibility wise, but he has gotten along with the angel for the 6 months i've had him. And also, the stocking sites i've been to say the angel and gourami and paradise fish are fine in that tank and together.

Well Shiro,my 6 yr old lionhead passed away a few days ago when the tank started leaking. The tub I had put them in had gotten something in it. Idk what. Dottie and Solo hardly made it though. They are both doing ok now.
Now I have to reseal my 110. I think I'm gonna wait until I have a house next year to set it up though.

And they were gone today so they must've hatched! I think my baby guppies eat the real small babies if they see them! They eat everything and I've only gotten two to a decent size (about a fifth of their parents). They're a weird color. The parents are a black and a golden by the babies are brownish with yellow spots! Crazy!

More Noodles! Remember that little snail a few pages ago? ( A.k.a. a day or two ago?)

Haha yeah I guess. I wish they were rabbit snails. I love those things so much! I'm just to cheap to buy them and ship them to me as no places near me carry them. :( Im moving my black mystery snail to a 5g with a betta and two ADFs. As well as one of the babies. I'd rather my golden and blue snails breed as I like them better! :p I'm an awful person..... Haha

I can't tell you how excited I am! I found a website that sells rabbit snails 4-5 bucks a piece and ships for free! I'm getting 4! A golden, a white, a black, and a yellow! I might add another white and another golden because I love the colors. I'll probably just start out with the 4 and since shipping is free,'ill add another later! So excited!

Which website, TerrificTeddyGuineas? (Not sure how to shorten it, sorry) I need to get motivated in regards to my tanks again, and a snail might just be the thing.

@TerrificTeddyGuineas
How cute! =D I have four rabbit snails right now. ♥ At first I only had one who
was on her own, but not long ago I bought another snail and they were
instantly smitten with each other, because they've had two babies. ;v;

Okay, I didn't know the tank was a high, I thought it was the normal long kind.
The gourami can get to around 6" so it'll be cramped if he gets around full size, I'd still opt to trade that guy in for a pair of dwarfs.
I don't know about the paradise fish, he or she is probably fine, I'd just say the gourami would need to go.
Since gourami are labyrinth fish, they need wider tanks, with more surface space. Labyrinth fish breathe from the surface, so yeah.
If you wanted to keep the gourami though, I'd say you could, but I wouldn't add any more fish.
It's up to you if you want to add any more fish to school with the spanner, but even if they do end up more solitary I'd still get some corydoras or something, that way if he wants to school he can, but he won't get too horribly offended if they end up closer than he wants them to be.

i would never add cories to that tank for a very good reason. they are bottom dwelling fish and so is the spanner... the spanner is semi-aggressive (mine leans more toward the aggressive side) and cories are peaceful. He would take them as an invasion of his territory and kill them.

As for the gourami, he doesn't look like a gold version of the opaline, yet he doesn't look like a dwarf. He is about the size of my paradise fish and the shop told me he wont get much bigger. I know he is a labyrnth fish, but also, so were the bettas that i had in there prior when i did a sorority and then the sorority failed.

and my tank is 12 - 13 inches wide, so is that wide enough?
