I lost another guppy. Blue Moon, my most gorgeous male :c From five to three in three days... I'm really worried that the new female that died brought a disease into the tank. There are no signs, I checked for fungus, tested the water, everything.

So my mystery snails have laid more eggs around the tank. I've only seen two egg sacks so there are probably 4 I don't see! And they were gone today so they must've hatched! I think my baby guppies eat the real small babies if they see them! They eat everything and I've only gotten two to a decent size (about a fifth of their parents). They're a weird color. The parents are a black and a golden by the babies are brownish with yellow spots! Crazy!

My angelfish Pepper died yesterday:( I don't know why, he was perfectly fine the days before. I've had him only a few weeks but the little guy was so cute! He was really one of my favorite fish I've had:(

Aw, RIP Pepper. :(
I love angelfish but I can never have them, you know. Barbs.
All of my fish are better now!! And eating! So happy.
My gold gourami is starting to calm down a bit, now that she's getting used to the blood parrots. They only harassed her when I first let her into the tank, after that they didn't care about her. They like hanging around the blue gourami, not harassing her, but just hanging with her. 'Cause she's closer to their size. And she shows them where food is at.
The new barbs are starting to learn that I=food.
This weekend I might be picking up a couple of tiny female black ruby barbs.
My pleco and featherfin catfish are really fat, I have to cut back on their feeding.
All of my rotala bunches are like, dead. My snail totally ravaged them. But my moneywort and creeping primrose willow bunches are doing really well.
Might get another mystery snail or two even though mine is a jerk and destroyed my rotala.
My featherfin catfish is really stupid, he likes to get inside the creeping primrose willow and rub his body all in it. It's really cute. I'd imagine it probably feels good, since he's scaleless. So yeah. I need them to get longer roots quickly so he stops unrooting them.

Sooo... i'm looking for a single addition to my 29 gallon...

In it, i have an angelfish, a spanner barb (both full grown),a paradise fish, and a Gold gourami.

I'm thinking about getting an opaline or a pair of kissers. What would be a good choice of gourami or cichlid for the tank?

:| How to put this nicely... None of your currect fishes(except maybe the paradise fish and gourami, which could use little more but not terrible) are in big enough tank, not to mention the barbs are schooling fish. And both opaline gourami and the kissers need more space than that, so... Also the opaline and the gold gourami are color morphs from same species of gourami, so by my logic the likehood of those two fighting(would they both be males) is pretty high.
So really I wouldn't add any single fish into that tank with the current fishes.

How ever suitable gouramis or cichlids for the tank of that size: dwarf, honey, thick-lipped, banded and pygmy gourami(and many more smaller species that I don't remember), and out of cichlids I'd look into dwarf sized cichlids like Apistogrammas and ram. :)
Can we pretend that the airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now...

Is the little blue fish a green/blue chromis? Or a damselfish?
What kind of clown is it? I love clowns. I have a pair of African maroon clowns, myself. Every time they spawn my pearlscale butterfly eats the fry, it's really depressing.

I second this. I'd advise you to upgrade your current tank to a 55 so your fish have enough space, and then maybe add like 7 more peaceful barbs for your spanner, (like other spanner, melon, panda, barbs) or some similar looking tetras. Barbs need other schooling fish. Then I'd look into maybe a (guaranteed female) blue or opaline to go w/ your gold (I love the gold and blue together, I actually just got blue and gold gourami on Monday). Or maybe a large catfish. They're really cute imo.
In your current tank though, I'd suggest you rehome the angel and gold gourami and get a pair of dwarf/honey gourami instead, and some schooling fish for your spanner barb.

supershark99 wrote:My coral does not look well.

Is anything wrong? Have you checked your pH, salinity, temps, etc? Are any of the tank inhabitants munching on 'em?
Or are they just having a bad week?
I personally don't do corals, because my favorite saltwater fish are, obviously, the butterflyfish. The coral-munchers. Heh. So I can't do any more corals. FOWLR are my thing now. ;)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also. My mystery snail totally destroyed all of my rotala magenta, there's only one tiny bunch left that I managed to scavenge up. It's in a fry saver in the top of the tank with my orange dalmatian betta right now, so fingers crossed it'll make it and do better.
I'm so angry at this mystery snail, I can't find a way to get him to stop eating my plants. I'm about to put him in a cup like two of my three bettas. He can be a cup-snail until my plants root and start growing faster. Then he can go back and munch on them all he wants.
