Ginger took off galloping, following Nessa and Felicity up the path. About halfway, she stopped suddenly. Facing the way she had just come, she murmed, "Goodbye. I'll never forget you." She felt horrible about leaving Nivea and Lilac behind; hopefully Keresone would help them. Once again, she galloped off, up the rocky slope.
She cold see the end of Nessa's tail, but couldn't catch up. She would be fine, so long as she caught up to them eventually.

Nivea neighed in pain and crumbled to the ground. "Nessa, go!" she cried. She closed her eyes and left out a bone chilling scream of pain.

Nessa Galloped with her eyes closed, listening to the sound of Felicitys hooves, Nievas cry behind her. She stumbled on a tree root and came crashing onto the ground. She glanced back to see ginger coming up the path behind her. she waited in sadness as she saw Nieva wasnt following. Her face twisted in sadness as she stood up and galloped on.

Kerosene looked down at the filly. "Can you walk?" she asked.

Nivea screamed again and saw a wolf lurking toward her. She lashed with her front hooves but the wolf dodged them and jumped on her. Nivea tried to rise but the wolf tore at her shoulder and Nivea stumbled. I can't let them beat me. She gave a buck and came down on her hind leg painfully falling to the ground. The wolf was flung off and hit a log, it whimpered and dashed away. "Ness.." her scream was cut off as another wolf pounced on her tearing her flank with long strokes of sharp claws. She rolled a little and heard a snap. The wolf got up and limped off on three legs.

Nessa Reached the end of the path. She desperatly wanted to go back to Nieva. She knew it would be dangerous, But she couldnt stand not knowing if she would survive.

She walked slowly forward and heard it. A faint snap of a twig. The wolf only as high as Nessa's knee, cowering in the trees.

"Yeah i can," Lilac said to Kerosene. She got up and wimpered slightly at the pain. She began to walk in the the direction that Felicity had gone. She need to get a rhythm before galloping.

Kerosene glanced back at the others. her dutys were to the foal at the moment she could come back to help them later. She caught up to the filly. "Where's your mother?" She asked her keeping an eye out for other wolves.
