Flutterling Name: Jahal
Personality: Jahal hated his coat. He really did. Everyone always assumed that he's a girl and they are pretty shocked and confused when they see him behave in a way that is unfitting for a female. Really, though? Can't everybody behave like they want? Jahal never had close flutterling friends due to this fact. Sadly he grew up in an illegal breeding station for unusual colours, so there were many flutterlings around and no real place to hide. He also couldn't remember his parents very well, so from a very young age he had to protect himself and closed off his heart. Sitting in a small cage with prejudiced flutterlings let his despair and hate grew so much, that he ultimately resigned. Jahal even stopped grooming himself. Why should he? It wasn't like anyone cared, they spoke ill of him either way. So there he was, dirty, a bit too thin and lethargic. He also became aggressive when another flutterling tried to come close to him.
He was almost too old to be sold, when finally somebody bought him. It took him a long while to notice the slight cinnamon and orange scent in the air as well as the warmth around him. No cage bars. No other flutterlings. Jahal was put in what seems like a bowl stuffed with feathers, soft fabric and very tiny pillows. His inborn curiosity perked up again, though he just had no energy in him anymore. With patience, care and love, his new owner finally gave him a new life. And what mattered even more: hope.
Over time Jahal helped his owner with knitting and untangling tiny knots in the threads and also tried it himself. He became a very calm and lovely flutterling, but couldn't hide his trickster nature after all. Nicking a few cookies or hiding the knitting needles were the worst tricks he came up with though.
Who cares that he is a male flutterling who likes knitting.
Who cares about floral designs and hearts on the finished knitwear.
He finally accepted himself, his behaviour, his coat colours, his personality.
What does this flutterling protect?: The very first pillow that his owner made for him. He himself chose the colours and pattern and although it clashes extremely and looks just weird, he adores it. It his strange. And it has girly colours. But also soft, so what else could represent him better?
Other: Due to the illegal breeding where the only fact that mattered were the coat colours, he has quite a few health problems. His wings are not strong enough to hold him as long as other flutterlings, so he tires easily from flying. His right leg is also a bit shorter than his left, so he is limping.
