I've just seen someone attempting to sell a twelve week old lurcherxcollie pup for £60 because he "didn't get along with my son". Apparently the poor pup didn't like the kid fussing with him. She couldn't sell him so gave him to Dogs Trust.
Why not try to sort out your kid and tell him to stop, instead of giving away your dog? Not to mention he should still have been with his mother.
I thought 8 weeks was the average to bring a pup home, so surely twelve isn't underage at all?
But it is a ridiculous reason to rehome a puppy.
Sounds like they were going through the puppy blues and instead of dealing with it just went the easier option.

In some places around the world, 12 weeks is much more the norm than 8

Personally, I'm not sure if I want any puppy under 10 weeks again. Creed has got to be the most well rounded puppy I've had, and I got him at 13/14 weeks.

It's like cats; he should be with his mother to learn the correct behaviour for interacting with others ^^ 8 might be the average (especially on FB omg) but it's just not right for healthy, developed puppies with the correct social skills. The longer they're kept with the mother, the better for everyone.

I got Lola at 7 1/2 weeks {Hated that shelter omg}
and I got very lucky with her.
Goldy I got at 10 weeks, and
she was very well rounded,
and learned a lot from her
mother {Even though she
was a BYB dog, the bitch
was actually a pretty great
dog.}
I got Bo at 8 weeks and he
was a nightmare. Not to
mention he died of heart
failure at 8, he was just
insane and SSA too.

The Chihuahau.
So my curiosity has dawned on me today, a random topic. The little creatures titled Chihuahua. I have grown up around many dogs and the only canine I have ever had trouble with are these little guys. From guarding my own clothes from me with snaps and growls, to refusing to let me sit next to good company on the couch. Their fragile always scared looking selves never seeming totally at ease with the world. But surely there has to be someone, somewhere out there that has met a chihuahua that has actually been an upstanding canine citizen and loved the world. With the help of a good owner who actually understands them. I'd love to hear stories of such to debunk the ever seemingly ferocious little fuzzballs. Feel free to share here your wondrous tales of the Chihuahua who could.
Please note this is in no way to start any arguments and mostly meant to be silly. Be nice to each other.

So in February my parents gave me the okay to adopt a dog from a shelter!
I'm so excited but I also worry if I get a dog I can't handle, or if the dog has issues
that we can't fix. So I wanted some advice from adopting from a shelter.
Also some breed recommendations and of course mixed breeds!
My family is a normal family not couch potatoes, not completely active just average
I guess you can say. We go camping at least once a month if not more, we have a boat
so a lot of time on the water, and we like to go walking and hiking.
I would also prefer a dog that loves to play and I would love to have a dog that is smart,
easy to train and will want to do agility or another dog sport!
Thanks for all answers!

@Midnight
Congratulations on 2nd place! Chewie's adorable, love the bandana. I need to get around to making a couple for Kora, she only has a red one right now and it's getting sort of gross. ^.^
I've noticed a bald patch on Kora's leg lately. It's not super red and hot feeling, but she doesn't really like you touching it. She's been licking almost nonstop at it, so I'm worried it might develop into a hotspot. We put some anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory cream on it (think it was Thermaderm or something?) and some bitter apple spray, though it doesn't seem to stop her from licking it. We can't find her cone so we might pick another one up tomorrow. I was wondering if any of you knew a better way to prevent them from licking it? Or a faster way to treat it? The cone works somewhat, but the poor girl crashes into things all the time with it on. :c
previously luminescent., just decided to change it up a bit! ^.^if you get the reference, you're a fantastic human c:

Thank you! I think Baze would have won if the prize wasn't a $50 gift certificate to the boarding place. (Rats can't board there, and I didn't get to take Princess so I guess they didn't know if I had a pup)
Chewie looks so cute in his bandana! I'm going to have to start buying them for him, I didn't know he would be so cute lol
