Ok, so this isn't really scary, more just weird. But it's true, so I think it counts XD This happened to my mum's friend Tina.
She was walking home from work at 1am (she worked at a bar at the time). The quickest way to get home was to cut through a little side street, so she did so. As she was walking down the side street, she started to get nervous, feeling like she was being watched. Tina isn't religious, as in she doesn't follow an organised religion, but she believes she has a 'guardian angel' or 'spirit guide' or something similar. So, she said a little prayer to her spirit guide asking him to keep her safe. She got home ok, and thought how stupid she was to get all jumpy over a dark street.
The next day her daughter called her with some news. She told her that a woman had been attacked and stabbed while walking home from a night of clubbing. The attack had happened in the same street Tina walked home through, only half an hour before the girl was stabbed. Tina was terrified, thinking 'that could have been me'.
A couple of days later the story appeared in the news paper. The man who attacked the girl was a schizophrenic and a drug addict. He had admitted to attempted murder, claiming someone had told him to do it, and said brashly "I'd been waiting there all night, I was worried no one was going to come by. An older woman did go past a little earlier, at about 1am, but I left her alone, I didn't like the look of the big man she was with."
Tina had been completely alone when she walked home. So who was the big man?
My mum told me this soon after it happened. I'm not sure what to believe, but I saw the article in the paper myself, so I know that much is true!
(The girl who was stabbed didn't die, luckily, and as far as I know the crazy guy has been sectioned now.)
