Torvus Latro - latin which translates to fierce hunter.
These creatures are a mixture of bear & big cat.
They have very thick stocky builds much like the bear.
But, they are powerful and beautiful like a big cat. Regal even.
Though these creatures have existed for centuries, humankind did not know about them until many thousands of years later.
Torvus Latro reside on a planet a few galaxies beyond our own on a planet much like earth.
The seasons fluctuate from spring to winter without much in-between. It snows constantly for around 9 months of the year, and only manages to warm up for a mere 3, hence the large and thick coats.
Torvus Latro come in typical bear/ big cat coats. Never will you find a Torvus with an unnatural coat as they will need to blend in with their surroundings. Here you can find lots of small game, which the carnivorous Torvus happily hunt, and relatively no enemies except for their own kind.
Torvus Latro are pretty solitary and territorial animals. They may keep to 'quads' which is typically (you guessed it) a group of four. Though some groups have been known to get a bit bigger, they may never exceed 10. This is due to fighting over dominance, lack of available food, and makes capturing and sneaking up on prey much more difficult.
