Tᵃᵍˢ :: OpenEver since the humans had infiltrated her home, the filly had been hiding. Her sanctuary was currently a small cave, naturally created in the side of the hills due to erosion. It had been a while since she'd actually seen anyone else, she hadn't dared to leave her safe haven. For days she could hear the cries of the elders who were in excruciating pain, as they wished for a swift death or commanded their young'uns to run. For days she'd heared those awful two-leggeds rounding up and driving away the infected, many too weak to actually run a great distance. Those who couldn't be captured had been left to die. Amongst those, was her mother. And the grulla's heart was heavy with the loss. She'd seen her. Heard her. Her mother had collapsed while being driven towards the two-leggeds scary horse traps, and was too exhausted to pick herself back up. Later that same evening, the disease had taken her life. Chernobyl shook herself, commanding her mind to stop thinking of those awful things. It was too late now. Her mother was gone. The young mare poked her head out of the cave, examining her surroundings. The coast was clear, minus the bodies now being scavenged by crows and other birds of prey. She braced herself, and quickly exited, making way to the mainlands where all of the other orphans had traveled to. Upon her arrival, she was relieved to see all of them gathered in the area. Some colts and young stallions were chasing after the ladies, while many of them were simply frozen in place, as if still in shock from recent events. Chernobyl took her place off to the side, a good distance away from the others, quietly observing them as they went about their lives as if nothing had happened. Tᵃᵍˢ :: OpenWell. That was that. Buh-bye family. The black draft sighed, as she looked over the pitiful sight of her now desolate and dead home. "How unfortunate." She murmured, before turning away and heading towards new grounds. Unlike many of the orphans, Creature didn't really care or feel any remorse for what had happened. Plagues hit at random and wipe out colonies. It was a part of life. So be it. Perhaps it was insensitive, or perhaps it was really her form of coping. Either way it didn't really matter much to her as she came to the grounds where the loners now resided. Some of the colts were chatting it up with the fillies, others were on their own or looking after their younger siblings. She simply rolled her eyes, and proceeded to move through the crowds. The pitch black femme was certainly odd, and perhaps a bit spooky. Intimidating even, considering how she towered over many of the others, and bore great muscles which rippled beneath her dark pelt with every movement she made. She didn't stop to make conversation with anybody, or even bother giving out a greeting call. She wasn't about to open up all, "Welcome welcome! Oh woe is me I lost my mummy and daddy, let's start a herd together!" Pah. How disgusting. If anyone wanted to talk to her, or was brave enough to approach her, then they'd do it without needing any formal invitation. For now, she grazed on the vegetation that had begun to sprout all over.

Good! She hadn't run off in fright. Very good actually. He was certain his over-the-top compliments would put her off and send her scurrying. But no no no, the lovely girl stayed right there and even offered up her own name, something that made him grin. And after introducing herself, he waited for her to say more, something along the lines of "I'm alone" or "I have no stallion," but she never did. After several awkward moments of silence awaiting a statement that never came, the dappled stud's grin began to fade. Was she without a stallion? Or was she a herd filly who'd wandered off? Now he was getting a bit antsy. He glanced around, and although he saw no other studs, it was quite possible she had a herd leader hiding just beyond his line of vision. And Plague gulped, glancing back to her nervously. "So. Uhm." Real smooth, casanova. "What's a pretty little thing like yourself doing out here?" He idn't want to directly ask if she had a herd or not. Heck, that would make him seem... cowardly! As if he were afraid of her stallion, who may or may not exist to his knowledge.

While he was never one to ruin anyone's happiness, it seemed Atom was doing just that as he stepped into the area of another lone equine. Specifically, a young filly, dun in color and absolutely stunning to the young stud. He'd seen many pretty fillies in his young life, yes, including a bright white one who never failed to leave his mind... but this was the first he'd seen since the disease wiped out most of the wild horse population, and she was definitely worth looking at. It took a few moments of working up his own confidence, but he did it. He approached her slowly, almost as if he were afraid of her suddenly lunging at him. How was he supposed to know? All of them had just become orphans, and who knows what that would do to the young horses. Hell, he'd already seen a few crazy ones chatting it up with plants, who knows how this filly could be! And now he was starting to scare himself, as his steps became more hesitant and his overall composure, uneasy. He stopped several feet away from her, awkwardly standing there with his mouth agape, suddenly dry, and his heart racing. What was he supposed to do? Say something? No maybe he'd just turn back-- wait! What if she'd already seen him? Would she chase after him? Oh no oh no oh no. The words kept racing through his mind as he stared at her, like some lovestruck yearling who'd just been nuzzled by the mare of his dreams. Or better yet, like some nerdy boy who'd helped a pretty cheerleader with her homework, and had been rewarded with a kiss to the cheek. And mind you, this was just from him seeing her. She really was very pretty to him, and he was so awkward and bad with the ladies... "H-Hi. I'm Atom. Atom like the bomb, not Adam like Adam and Eve though I go by both Atom and Adam because they sound the same and no one can really tell the difference when you use them--" He was rambling again. Great. Just great. The bay stud quickly clamped his mouth shut and averted his eyes, completely embarassed.
