Flamepool bristled at what Carnival said. "And what exactly do you mean by that?!" She spat in rage. "I left my clan to be with you! They would never accept me back!" She scratched deeply into the ground and hissed, "Am I just not good enough for you?!" She muttered to herself, "Mother was right telling me not to trust toms..." With that, she ran off in a blind rage.

Carnival watched Flamepool leave. He deeply regretted that. But Carnival has been a cat to speak his mind even if it sounded dumb. 'What am I going to do now?'... It was no use going back to her. She might throw a fit of rage at him again. 'what can I do?' He sat there and though about something to cheer Flamepool up. Then he remembered something, his 'sister' Circus would always feel upset when she looked too much like Carnival. He got her a flower to put in her hair to distinguish them. "Flowers are a good idea!" He set off deeper into the woods to find some flowers to cheer up Flamepool.

Flamepool had run off to the spot she had taken Carnival stargazing. Before she met Carnival, she had always gone here when stressed from medicine duties or clan life. She sighed and kicked a few pebbles into the lake. Maybe I overreacted... she thought to herself. I really should go back and apologize, but first, I need a sorry gift. She tasted the air and caught the scent of rabbit nearby. A nice, plump rabbit would be perfect! she thought, and with that she set off to find her prey.

Carnival gathered as many flowers as he could fit in his mouth. He dashed off to were Flamepool stormed off and tried tracking down her scent. 'Stupid flowers. It just makes this harder.' He did the best he could do. Her scent drifted down towards the water. 'Shes probably by the lake.' When he got there he couldn't see her. 'Odd, shouldn't she be here?'

Not far off from where Carnival was standing came a squeal. It sounded as if it came from a prey animal.

Carnival's ears caught the sound of dying prey. He dropped the flowers and ran to the source of the noise. "Flamepool?"

Flamepool pricked her ears at the sound of her name as she held her prize. "Carnival, is that you?"
