Ecoskaters are a bipedal race, which very intensely.


Eating habits

Ecoskaters are hardy animals that will eat practically anything if hungry. Omnivorous in nature, these creatures came from an exceedingly harsh environments where food and water was so scarce, they had to form symbiotic relationships with plants to survive.

Plants can grow in the slots between scales, rooting in the skin of the ecoskater. Moisture pools in these crevices, allowing for easier growth in their harsh origins. In return, the plants share the sugar produced via photosynthesis with the ecoskater.
They can't survive off this alone, but it gave them an advantage over others in their environment.

In the event food is plentiful, the plants will grow beautifully, sharing the sugars in the other direction. And in this event, although ecoskaters dislike it when not in sunlight, they will not wilt. Time in the sun gives these energetic creatures an energy boost, and easily become depressed if they don't get outdoor time.
There are exceptions, mostly when it comes to fungi/ light sensitive plants, in which case the ecoskater will be more "chill" in nature. Such plants are less common, and mostly breed morphs.

Ecoskaters don't drink through their mouth, but through the roots on their chin.

For some reason, they adore spicy foods.

Coloration

Ecoskaters are typically similar in colour to the plants they have a symbiotic relationship.

Most ecoskaters also share a symbiosis with a luminescent breed of plankton, evolved to sit on the always moist scales of an ecoskater, this allows them to maximize the amount of photosynthesis that can take place. Typically these will resign in small circular patterns, uncommonly spirals and occasionally intricate designs.

Physiology

Horns- not rigid, A sort of primitive ear. It's used to direct focus to objects.
They also flop when they run.

Stance- Usually bipedal, to protect their long claws, but if they're in a low energy mood, they'll revert back to using their arms as well.

Tongues- Thick, forked.

Eyes- Pupils/irises are usually diamond in shape, there are occasional deviations.

Nostrils- Ecoskaters have pits across their upper lip like a python, that allow heat sensitivity.
