Skye suddenly snarled and turned to Thunderheart. "This is some kind of trick isn't it!? You want me afraid just so you can tell Darkstar lies about me!" She turned back and continued heading for the other side of the river, fighting the growing current.

Skye couldn't hear anything but the racing of her heart and the raging river. She could hear another loud crack followed by a sound worthy of an earthquake. She turned once more to the find the source of the sound and her eyes widened to see a large wave coming toward her. She tried hard to finish crossing the river but she wasn't a River pack dog, she wasn't built for swimming.
