One Simple Touch:
Walking through the forest with a newly captured Bernikesaur is harder than it sounds, and it sounds pretty hard.
My fingers ached painfully as he paused once more for no reason.
Out of all the Dino's in that meadow I had that special connection with this one.
Not that I was complaining though. I was totally in love with him. He was perfect to the eye, he was very muscular and had no scars whatsoever. He also held a proud and powerful aura that gave me the chills when I first made eye contact with him. Yet, he was stubborn and headstrong, his personality matched mine a lot. After all, he was designed for me. And I could tell that he would be an amazing lifelong companion. At least when I earn his trust.
"Come on boy," I sighed, tugging gently on the rope tied around his neck.
He trotted forward before snorting indifferently at me. Yeah, definitely made for me.
We walked forward for quite a while. I knew we were close to the village now and I could feel my Dino's excitement filtering through our growing bond.
I turned around when we were standing on top of a hill that led down into the valley where our village was located.
"I'm so glad I finally found you." I said softly, hesitating before holding up my hand to him. He looked at me for a moment before tilting his head slightly and then bending it so that his snout was inching toward my hand.
When it was mere inches away from touching my gloved hand there was a shout. It caused my Dino to move away from me in the blink of an eye.
"Hope!"
My head snapped toward it. The pounding of a Bernikesaurs feet sounded. My eyes landed on one of our oldest village guards and his aged Berkinsaur.
They skidded to a halt in front of me.
"Hello, Vincent." I said formally, I hated being held back form bonding with my Dino.
"He's a nice one." Vince commented, motioning with his gloved hands to my new companion who inched his way to my side.
"Thanks," I said back, looking up to my Dino.
"So-" Vince was cut off by his
Bernikesaur. He let out a loud growl, eyes narrowed on my Dino's.
"Lake," Vince said softly. "What's wrong?"
Our Bernikesaurs squared up to each other while growling.
They were challenging each other. My heartbeat picked up as I felt my Dino's loud snarl vibrate through my body.
Lake looked a bit surprised when my unnamed Bernikesaur parted his jaws and let out another threatening growl.
Suddenly Lake lowered his gaze and stepped back a bit. His head dipped in respect.
My Bernikesaur huffed in triumph, holding his head high before leading me away.
Vincent looked really shocked. I could tell because his mouth was hanging open. Lake was not one to back down from a fight, he had many scars to prove it.
I looked up to my Bernikesaur, his enchanting yellow eyes were shining with happiness.
The sun was going to set soon so that meant I had to put him into the village pen quickly. I had to be back in the village before super was ready, it's a rule for all young Mat'iri people.
Once we were close to the village gates I stopped walking.
My Bernikesaur stopped trotting and faced me. His eyes were shining with joy when they met mine.
I smiled brightly at him. "You are so amazing."
He made a soft huffing noise in response. I sighed contentedly, taking off my gloves and putting them into my bag then re-adjusting my arrows and bow strapped onto my back.
A soft nudge on my shoulder made me snap out of my thoughts. I barely felt the touch it was so light.
I looked up to see my Bernikesaur's face less than a foot from mine. I almost moved away but he moved closer to me, initially bringing his snout an inch away from my nose.
I could feel his warm breath as it tickled my cheeks and nose. He seemed completely calm and it soothed me.
I lifted my hand once more. It was getting a bit chilly outside so not having my gloves on was a bit awkward.
In the next moment he did something I never thought he would do. He rested his muzzle in the palm of my hand.
But my surprise heightened when I felt it.
A sudden bolt of electricity that traveled from my fingertips down to my toes, leaving them tingling.
The shockwave made me gasp and everything seemed to freeze. My Bernikesaur's eyes found mine once more and he growled softly. He felt the shock too.
My hands shook as I folded them around the rope tied to his neck tightly.
My mind was still stuck on the wave of electricity.
It was amazing though I liked it a lot and I could tell our bond was deepening as I led him through the gate without another word.
This was just the start of my inseparable bond with Shockwave. And it all started from one simple touch.
Omg that took me forever... For some reason my creative juices weren't flowing very well today! Anyway thank you so much, and good luck to everyone!
