someone on sunday told me she was told pigs ear is bad for sheties (we where shareing sheltie tips)

anyone know if this is true? marty got a free one and ate it on sunday and seems fine, he won't get them often only for x-mas i belive , him having them will be rare as people in my house don't like the idea of pigs ear and deer antler (yet they are ok with bones) and i find the smell(of pig ear) not very nice . the reason he is geting one on x-mas is he injoyed it and it will stop him begging for x-mas dinner/lunch (where people will sneek him food, despite what i say)

Pork makes many dogs have the runs. Also, rawhides aren't good for dogs.

Does your family realize antlers can be collected without hurting the animals? They shed them naturally every single year.

What are your all's opinions on working dog breeders? As long as their dogs prove themselves in the fields/have working titles and are tested for everything required by the breed club? What if they have no conformation titles?

Show-type and field-type Goldens seem to vary in coat type and a few other factors, and it seems like not many working Golden breeders do much, if any, conformation showing?

There's a guy I know who claims to have a "miniature lab".

Yeah, sureeeeee.

Probably just a runt, to be honest. :p
What breeds have a miniature version? I know the standard poodle does, but are there many others? Are miniature and toy aussies 'real'?
previously luminescent., just decided to change it up a bit! ^.^if you get the reference, you're a fantastic human c:

He does sometimes whack me with an open mouth, which can hurt depending on angle, but never really has been nippy. He's more pawsy and a big loud mouth!

Pft, if I could post a picture of my face here I'd show off the shiner Link gave me being pawsy while I was laying on the floor playing with him. He straight up punched me in the eye socket. I was rolling around making noises somewhere between laughing and crying cause I know from where my husband was sitting it had to have looked hilarious as hell.

i think they are just smaller aussies,i'v never seen him that hasn't reached aus yet,i saw someone who claimed to have a teacup dobermin on the weekend... it was smaller then my sheltie and they claimed a year old

the only ones i can thing of are dachshunds , the minis being the more common pet ones.

that and well alot of people call shelties mini collies

Classified as the same breed:
Poodles (standard, miniature and toy), Manchester Terriers (standard and toy), Xoloitzcuintli (standard and toy (I think??)), American Eskimo Dogs, Beagles, Portugese Podengo (Pequeno, Medio, Grande), Dachshunds (Miniature and Standard)

Classified as different breeds (by AKC):
Greyhound and Italian Greyhound (and possibly whippet), Bull Terrier and Miniature Bull Terrier, Large Munsterlander and Small Munsterlander

I think that's it. Note that I'm NOT including breeds that were outcrossed to get a smaller version. Only ones that I'm pretty sure came from selectively breeding for sizes. Also, I may have forgotten some.

o hey
first time posting
no way

well I've got four dogs,
one is a german shepherd, other is chowchow,
third is a welsh pembroke and last one is a sheep dog.
tho the last two don't live with me so I don't see them too often.

I think I'm most close with the chowchow.
He's now about one year old and has never had his fur trimmed.
Some consider him to look similar to a lion.
Do you guys think it's time to trim his hair? It's quite large and I've
had increasing troubles with putting on his collar when it's time
for walkies.
