Woot woot! Dixie's finally getting the hang of "back up", we're just proofing and slowly adding distance now. And I've been allowed to bring her in the car again and to work in the parking lots (only at night though), as long as she's muzzled in the car.

Dixie played with Sherlock and Murdoch in the backyard this afternoon. She did really well; she and Murdoch even played chase for a bit too.
I had to separate them though when Sherlock started getting too rough. Dixie was looking uncomfortable so we ended playtime.

For those who haven't been lurking around the Dog Owner Chat lately, we adopted a dog from animal control (who turned out to be a puppy, when we initially thought and were told he was 2-3 yrs old). Which means more work to keep puppy out of trouble!
The day he came home meant less one on one time with Dixie, and instead preparing everything, getting the pup cleaned up, and puppy-proofing.
Yesterday, it rained heavily so no fetch outside, instead training in the basement and a long walk in the evening when the rain stopped.

Today. FINALLY. We made it outside.

She met him through the babygate and did well. Her posture was relaxed and her tail was waving - and she brought over a toy and was play bowing.
But today when he was walking down the hall past the gate, she snarled. XP She may be just having one of those days, but they won't be meeting in the yard until I've worked with them both through the gate and on leash first (and Ohana learns a few basic commands like 'watch me' and 'sit')!

But, after I've worked with them together awhile, I think she'll do okay under supervision. c:
