Scary story time!

Sam's parents had gone to Mexico on vacation and his grandma was watching him for the weekend. Meanwhile, his parents were walking in a park somewhere, and they stopped and sat on a bench after a few hours of enjoying the weather, watching kids fly kites, and feeding some ducks. Not long after they had started eating,a pack of feral dogs came running up and yipping playfully. The couple thought this was cute, and fed them some scraps of their lunch. When they got up and started walking to the store to get Sam a nice Mexican Sombrero, one of the dogs had broke free from the pack and started following them. This dog was different than the others;it was hairless and small and it had a long, skinny tail.Sam's parents, having immediately forgotten the hat, picked it up and decided that this dog would make an even better present, and besides,it was free!So on Monday afternoon they smuggled the dog onto the plane and once they had gotten back to their house, the dog jumped out of Sam's mother's purse and scurried across the living room floor to hide under the couch. It's loud, rapid breathing did not bother his parents at all,so instead of getting the animal out of their house because there was OBVIOUSLY something wrong with it,they called Sam down from his room.He scampered down the stairs and gave each of his parents a hug before he noticed his gift hiding under the couch. When he did,he was afraid rather than overjoyed, and asked his mom what it was.His dad cut her off and replied "Why,son, this is your new pet!*chuckles*He's one of those rare Mexican Hairless Dogs!" and Sam was immediately satisfied with that explaination. He ran over to the couch, pulled it out,and gave it a big hug. That night,it slept at the foot of his bed(more because he had locked it in his room than that he actually liked the boy),but in the morning when Sam woke up,it wasn't there. He sat on the edge of his bed, thinking about where it could possibly have gone, when he felt something nibbling at his toe.He looked down, and there,on the carpet, was the little dog.Sam was immediately distressed and ran through the house shouting; "MOM!MOOOOM!MY DOGGIE IS SICK!HE BIT ME!".He entered the kitchen where his mother was preparing breakfast and held up the dog.By now it's mouth was foaming and there was a tiny bit of blood on it's teeth. His mother, oblivious to the apparent signs that something was indeed SEROUSLY wrong with the thing Sam held in his outstretched hands, she assured him that it was all right and that she would take it to the vet.It was a long car ride, and Sam gradually got quieter, but his mom paid no attention.Once at the vet, they rushed the creature in and the veterinarian examined it right away. She told Sam and his mother this:"First of all, this is not a dog. This is a sewer rat.I sure hope he didn't bite you, because he has rabies!"But before Sam's mother could speak,Sam gave her an answer. He started convulsing and foaming at the mouth, his cries of desperation almost drowning out the weeping of his mother and the horrified screaming of the vet.

That one was more...gross than scary.

Lily groaned as she parents pratically killed her. "You'll have to babysit Charlie for us tonight. Okay?" Her mom asked, looking down at Lily's brother Charlie who was oddly hiding underneath the couch. But it was okay. He did that a lot.
"BUT MOM! I told Angelica and Marissa and even Hannah, Mom, Hannah!, that I would come to Skating World tonight!" Lily yelled frustrated. Her Mom just shook her head and sighed. "Well you can call Angelica and Marissa and Hannah that, PLANS ARE CANCELLED! We've talked about this Lily. Family comes before friends. Even in the-"
"Even in the dictionary. I know that Mom." Lily sighed repeating her Mom's favorite phrase. "Then good. We'll be back at 12:00 a.m. Be good!" Her Mom kissed Charlie on the cheek then walked out the door with Lily's Dad. Lily scowled at her brother. "Look, twirp. You ruined my Saturday. So I'll ruin your's too. Now scram!" Lily kicked the air in front of Charlie's face. He got the message and ran up to his room, screaming "chocolate-chip bananas!" the entire way.
Lily scowled at him and his stupid seven year old head and lay down on the couch. She turned on the TV to her favorite channel, Fashionistas. It had everything that could possibley be girlish. Makeup, clothes, boyfriends. Everything a normal thirteen year old wanted. She was happy when she found out they were doing a special about skinny jeans.
Suddenly, there was a thump from upstairs. It continued until Lily got really annoyed. "Keep it down, twirp! I'm watching TV!" Lily screamed up to her brother. The thumping continued. Lily, frustrated, ran upstairs.
Instantly, when Lily got on the stairs she knew something was wrong. When she stepped on the stairs, there was no thumping. BUt she could hear screaming.
She ran up the stairs to find Charlie lying pn the floor. His arms were moving by themselves since Charlie was knocked out. His eyes were open though. And they were black. Lily knew this wasn't her brother. Her brother's eye were blue. Something had her brother.
His hair was in a mess, and half of it was ripped out of his head. Lily looked up and there was a short man, right there in the ccorner. She tried to scream but someone behind her put a gag made of some lack thing over her mouth. Suddenly, Lily couldn't breath.
Not even out of her nose. She felt her pulse getting weaker as she tried to get air. Her arms seemed to be moving by themselves. The short man smiled in the shadows and when he stepped out, Lily instantly recognized him.

Dad. That was her last thought before she blacked out completely. She regained her sight for only a moment. Long golden hair blocked her sight. It wasn't Lily's but it looked like hers. Mom.

I didn't find it that creepy or scary...it has no...plot? Yeah, I think that's the word I'm looking for. There's no motive for the parents to kill their children, unlike with spirits or psychotic killers; that's what they do, what their role has been since they've been put into stories.
If this is your story, maybe lengthen it out a bit more, work the parents into it so that they come off as evil or even slightly off...something to give the reader them the sense that the parents would be sensible culprits. ^.^

Yeah, I thought yours was pretty good. ^.^ Pretty creepy, and the issue was obvious to the reader...it was kind of a funny scary story, if you know what I mean. xD
