"I shouldn't have agreed to come to this wedding. I'm happy for them and all, but do you see this tux on me? It's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen," he shook his head and took a large gulp of the wine. "And I don't even like wine," Orrick muttered, only half to Isaac, as he turned back to regard Shawn. "I'm Orrick, Isaac's roommate," he smiled as he took her hand. Picking up on her slight awkwardness, he quickly added, "Don't worry, it's not your fault. I'm just not really one for being around a lot of people, especially a bunch of people I don't know at a fancy wedding." He shuffled his feet a bit, and brushed a piece of his black hair out of his face. "So, uh, what do you do for a living-- if you don't mind me asking?" Orrick asked Shawn, attempting to deffuse some of the new found tension with conversation.

( It's okay, haha )
.: "I think that tuxedo looks fine on you, Orrick. It's nice to meet you~ I don't mind at all. I work as a forensic scientist for the police department in town. It's a very interesting job, haha. What about you, and you as well, Issac?" Shawn smiled, taking a note of her surroundings. The floor tile was a beautiful cream, with shards of glass that shimmered and reflected the fragments of light beautifully, casting an angelic glow to the hallway. :.

"Heh, well hopefully there are none, otherwise I'm unemployed." Chase said with a small chuckle, "Aw he's nervous. He'll be OK, after the service is over. I'm confused though, why would you let your younger brother marry a murderer? Aren't you nervous about that--" He was cut off by the groom-in-question standing up and responding;
"If you would like to come into work on Monday, that job that you ever so love, then I would suggest you keep your mouth shut," His voice sounded less composed than normal, a little strained. While he normally slouched, Monty stood up right, his eye twitching ever so slightly. He felt exposed without his normal attire consisting of his hat and scarf.

"Oh, why thank you very much, Madame," Orrick smiled, somewhat surprised. "You look quite nice, if you don't mind my saying. Red suits you very well." When she told him what job she had, he was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't really a job that he would have guessed she would have, at least not at this first meeting. "That does sound quite interesting, indeed. I'm an archaeologist, which is both interesting and a pain. I have to travel a lot, and I get to see a lot of neat things, but I also get jet lagged, and I'm away from human contact for months sometimes.. which explains my, uh, awkward nature at weddings."

.: Shawn bows slightly, laughing. "Thank you, good sir. Being an archaeologist seems like a very fun job, at least with the excitement. What have you found so far? You're not really that awkward, at least in my opinion." Shawn's eyes brightened at the subject of archaeologist, which was one of the jobs that she would have liked to pursue, if she somehow didn't make it into the field of forensics. She definitely loved the idea of exploring different regions, as well as having history and mystery involved. :.

"Life is fine, work is fine, so I'm fine" he said simply, listening quietly to Orrick and Shawn as they spoke," I own a clock shop, not quite as exciting as this guy" he pointed casually towards his roommate," But I enjoy it. I repair clocks, make them, sell them, stuff like that."
Sunni seemed to smile almost coldly at the mention of her darling little brother marrying a killer, and the room seemed to drop in temperature a bit," Hehehe, I've been wondering that myself actually" her smile was obviously fake, on the boarder of looking almost annoyed," I'm still not happy about it, really, but Kade and I already have a very long talk on the matter, and since father agreed I don't have any say in the situation. Though I sure hope Kade knows what he's doing, especially considering the terms he's had to agree with in order to marry such a low figure in society. I'm interested to see what dad will think of you. Say, Monty, rant you excited to meet you're new father and mother? I'm sure they'll be thrilled to see you in person."

.: Shawn laughed. "Actually, I really like clocks. The way they work is fascinating, really. What type of clocks do you prefer? I might have to stop by sometimes-- I have a clock that could use a bit of repair, actually. It was my grandmother's grandfather clock, haha. I personally find it a bit funny," she laughed to herself, a bit awkwardly. :.

"All sorts of thing: the basics, like dinosaurs, mammoths, and then other things like ancient statues and vases. I even uncovered a whole Aztec village that had been buried once," clearly he was excited, as his eyes lit up and he began talking faster. It was clear that Orrick was much less uneasy now that they were actually beginning to converse, and it showed in his posture. He was still standing up rather straight, as he generally did, but it was much less stiff than it had been before. Orrick smiled at Shawn's little "grandmother's grandfather clock", clearly finding it mildly amusing as well. "To be honest, though, I think what Isaac does is even more amazing. Anyone can dig up a bone-- hell, dogs do it-- but fixing a clock. I don't know if you've ever seen the inside of a clock, but I honestly have no idea how he does it. It's amazing, and I don't think there's a clock in the world that he wouldn't be able to fix. He's like some sort of clock genius or something," he nudged his roommate's arm as he spoke, and he clearly meant every word of his praise. After a short while, he turned the conversation back to Shawn, clearly interested in her profession as well, "What about you-- I'm sure that you've seen some pretty interesting things in forensics, and I'm sure you've solved a lot of cases at the police department, too."

"Heh... welllllll... I should just step out of your little family stuff then," Chase chuckled nervously and side stepped away from the two, starring anxiously at Monty. He could sense the temperature decreasing in the room and knew it was best that he stayed out of it.
"I hope you know that the only person in the family who's opinion I value is the one I'm about to marry, mate. I'm more than used to unaccepting families, I'm certainly not afraid to meet your parents in person," Although, the thought did make him feel a bit queasy. The family part was the only thing he wasn't looking forward to, due to horrid experiences in the past. Mentally, Monty sucked it up and was willing to tolerate the family, even Sunni, for Kade.

Saiya wandered through the venue, hoping to spot someone she knew. She admired all of the decor, wondering what her wedding would be like if she ever had one. Everyone seemed to already be busy with something, weither it was talking to another guest or pouring themselves something to drink. Though she knew many of the other guests by name and appearance, she didn't see anyone that she knew deeper than that. With a heavy sigh, she set out to find something to drink. Who knows, maybe she'll find someone to start a conversation with......
